We had our second dinner at El Tapatio 07-21-19. This new restaurant is in the same location as Los Tres Amigos in Wichita Falls. It has kept the same layout and decor, which is very bright and welcoming. We arrived at 6:15 pm and did not have to wait more than a few minutes for a booth. The table and seats were clean. We immediately had someone take our drink order. Out waiter was very nice and there was a small language barrier. We tried to make sure we were clear and he went over our order so it worked out well. He was a very sweet young man.
Here is where I unfortunately give the 3 star review. I had the chicken fajita chimichanga, my husband had the carne asada, one friend had three tacos and unfortunately, I cannot remember what our other friend had. While the food was plentiful and came out quickly, for our tastes it is rather bland. My chimichanga was nice but I found more vegetables than chicken for my tastes. The refritos were rather pasty and not flavorful. I felt my rice was on the dry side and flavorless. When I asked my dinner companions how there meal was, the consensus was "nice" but not very flavorful and again, rather bland. We have had the queso there before and it is not to our tastes. To us, it seems thin and watery and our dinner companions do not care for it either. Again, while the food is not bad, so far to us, it is unremarkable. I would love to taste a little more spice and layers of flavor in their dishes! It think it would elevate their food considerably. If you like your food on the mild side, honestly this is a nice place to go. However, if you would like more flavor and more layers to your dish, you may be slightly...

Food: The menu is extensive, featuring a variety of classic dishes. I tried the enchiladas and was impressed by the rich flavors and generous portions. The sauces were deliciously homemade, and the refried beans were a standout side. Their fresh salsa and chips were a perfect start to the meal.
Service: The staff was welcoming and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. The service was generally prompt, although there was a brief wait for our food during a busy dinner rush.
Ambiance: The atmosphere is lively and colorful, making it a great spot for families or a night out with friends. The music adds to the festive vibe, creating a fun dining experience.
Overall: El Tapatio offers a wonderful dining experience with flavorful dishes and friendly service. It's definitely a must-visit for anyone in the area looking for tasty Mexican food. Just be prepared for it to get busy...
Read moreWe went to this place about two months ago, and it took them an hour to get us our food. We haven’t gone back since but decided to go last night to give them another chance, and they sat us in the back room that is very crowded and loud so we asked him if we could sit outside and the guy got very mad, and when he took us outside and didn’t even move the tables together for us so we had to move them together ourselves. There was no music on outside but as soon as he walked back inside from sitting us out there, he turn the music on WAY loud, we couldn’t even hear each other talk. The first time we asked to turn it down they didn’t listen. We asked a second time they didn’t listen again…We asked a third time and they still did not turn the music down. Finally, after the fourth time of us asking to turn it down, they turned it off. Then we waited 45 minutes for our food and our food still hadn’t came but other people were getting their food so we left. The service is not great, the queso was cold when they brought it to us. We will not be going here again, because every time we come it ends up being a...
