If you order online your food is made in minutes not by half hour. When you get there you food is not completely done and they have a 12 year old throwing your food in your car which ended up being my tiramisu that rolled around in it's container. The nachos I got were dry cheese covered in burnt chips and since I got that for free I didn't complain but the fact that I ordered 4 breads and was told they only had one loaf.. when I was there 25 minutes after ordering had to wait another 6 minutes for them to completely make my order which made my food even colder. I addressed my concerns with the car hop.. and he didn't seem to care.. but they refunded my desserts and took them back.. as well as accepted my 20%tip.. . The manager did not bother contacting me or addressing me directly .. but the 12 year old is car hopping and coming right up to windows of cars without social distancing.. it's my first time here since moving to Wichita falls and was excited to try it since the reviews are great .. but the to go side and the service side is completely off.. the food was plain noodles and the no sauce in my meal with nothing sticking to the noodles 4 pieces of dry chicken added to it and numerous black olives. The caeser salad was browning and completely sloppy wet on bottom and basically looked like it was on a shelf for days.. I had better luck with Walmart salads.. unfortunately it looks like the current situation made for them to extremely lack the quality of their food... The portions the salad and the overall appearance of the whole thing was not great. Other than that the bread was good.. I ordered 4 and had it for a few days.. but I had to wait for that which really was annoying.. the car hop guy wanted me to accept 1 of the breads I ordered out of the 4 I actually had. Which was ridiculous.. have u ever been to a place and ordered 4 things and they say after 30 minutes .. well I have 1.. and you should be happy with that? It is insane. And ridiculously illegal to have a 12 year old come out to cars and demand money that I paid for via the restaurant app . For how much this place is.. right now.. fast food is...
Read moreSo sad. I ordered the peach Bellini, and although it looked nothing like the picture, I gave it a go. It was not good. I requested a substitute drink and got the Featured raspberry lemonade. It came out and tasted like cough syrup; how unfortunate. I sent it back and decided maybe this wasn't the place for a cocktail. It was no big deal. My night was not ruined. The food came out and was pretty good. My wife and I decided to share an entree, and the cook split it into two portions. How wonderful. The experience wasn't great to this point, but it wasn't horrible. The check came and I saw the second drink I had sent back. I assumed it was just a mistake, so I asked the server why there would be an item on my check that I didn't consume. She said let me get the manager. The general manager came over to speak with us and led by saying we don't remove Alcohol from the check. I pleaded. I took only a sip, and the drink was not good. Why would I pay for something I did not consume? He said we could switch it for something else, and I replied. I tried two, and it was clear that either your bartender was not doing something correctly or your recipes were flawed. I don't wish to try anything else, and I also wish not to pay for something I didn't consume. His reply was sorry we don't remove Alcohol from a guest check consumed or not. Needless to say forcing a customer to pay for something they didn't consume is a no no. I see why the place was empty. Haven't been back in a while and do not intend to return. I can't fathom a place staying open for much longer with horrible food and management...
Read moreWhen we arrived at lunch time, it was evident that something wasn't right. Every other restaurant on the highway had a full parking lot. We've been a fan of Johnny's for years in Ft Worth and just thought that maybe it was a bad time for this location. We were wrong.
The server was the first sign that showed things weren't going to be up to our past experiences as she wasn't familiar enough with the menu to answer basic questions. 3 of our group of 4 ordered something using spaghetti pasta. The pasta was a medium quality and was overcooked. (For these prices, I would expect a higher end pasta or pasta cooked al dente. My grandson can cook this quality of pasta to al dente and he's only 14!)
While the sauces were decent enough, the store has lost the $20 Parmesan graters and forced servers to use a $5 cheese plane. It results in a lot more time over your dish if the server isn't either strong or experienced enough to get a good production out of each pass. I'm not sure if the store lost the traditional grinders for the location or won't buy replacements. But, the dispensers for salt and pepper weren't normal for even a mid-level Italian restaurant.
Overall, the experience left me disappointed. We may be spoiled by getting what we pay for in DFW. But, as this is part of a chain, this should have been a consistent experience. It was far below what Carino's has been in...
