I havenāt had Papa Johnās in over 14 years, and honestly, my last experience wasnāt great. I vividly remember feeling like I was eating a piece of paper topped with fairly decent-flavored toppings. Fast forward to this evening, as I was arriving home from work, I spotted a little flyer wedged in my gateāa 50% off deal for Papa Johnās.
I debated it for a while. My last encounter was disappointing, and I donāt like wasting money on food that doesnāt deliver. But hey, itās been over a decade, and surely theyāve made some improvements, right? So, I decided to give them another shot.
I placed an order for a large pizza and some wings. With the discount, my total still came to over $30, which felt a bit steep, but I was hopeful this would be a better experience than the last.
The Pizza The delivery arrived on time, and I immediately opened the box, hoping to be hit with the heavenly smell of gooey cheese and spicy toppings. What I found instead was a pizza that somehow managed to be thinner than I remembered. It was almost as thin as cardboard stock.
Now, Iāll give them thisāthe toppings werenāt bad. But letās be honest, when you order pizza, youāre paying for the whole package, not just decent toppings slapped onto a wafer-thin base. Every bite felt like I was eating marinara sauce and toppings straight off the box. There was barely any crust, and the overall experience was just⦠underwhelming.
The Wings As for the wings, they were cooked correctly, but Iām a fan of crispy, slightly crunchy wingsānot these overly saucy, slimy ones. They were drenched in sauce to the point where I had to throw them in the air fryer just to get a bit of a bite. That shouldnāt be necessary, especially for the price.
Final Thoughts If youāre someone who enjoys cardboard-thin pizza with decent toppings, Papa Johnās might be your go-to. But for me? This will probably be my last visit. Spending over $30 to feel disappointed again after 14 years? Yeah,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStaying in a local hotel due to being out of town for business, I did not feel like going out for dinner. I downloaded the Papa John's app and placed my order. I get a knock on my hotel door after 29 minutes. I open the door and was politely greeted by the delivery driver. He repeated my order as I signed the receipt. I ordered a pizza, wings, drink and extra condiments. They added napkins, paper plates, cups and extra condiments! I was floored by their thoughtfulness! I would have easily eaten my pizza off the lid of the box and used the hotel cups by the coffee maker. My only complaint is with myself, for not adding more of a tip for this thoughtful delivery gentleman... (The tip was added on from the app's check out screen and there is no place on the receipt to change the tip amount. Plus, I rarely carry cash on me... Although my tip was over 30% of the total already.) This was such a great experience compared to some of the other places I've ordered from, in the many other cities we travel to for business. Thank you so much, Papa John's of Wichita Falls! You will have my business whenever I'm in town! Thank you...

Called the manager told her the issue she said she will remake it. I didn't wanna take the risk again so I drove up there. Showed her the pizza and she jumped back and went eww. Told her I shouldn't have to make a trip up here this is an inconvenience is there anything else she can do to make it right? She was snobby and said nope I remade it have a nice night. I then asked for her member # for I can address corporate then she just ignored me and played with her phone. Then looked back at me rudely like what do you want. I repeated myself and she was being even more rude and wouldn't even give me a number to call whos above her. She claims her daddy but she wouldn't let me address the issue...
