Blalock is still nearly identical to the Wichita Fish Co. They have great fish for really excellent price and one of my favorite is the alligator but had a special for fried flounder that I tried this time. I wasn't familiar with flounder but 2 large whole filets were served and I was able to get the veggies instead of fries. Flounder was tasty, white, flaky meat and I enjoyed it. The dinner comes with fries, hush puppies and slaw, but I am not a cabbage fan of any sort and their fries are good but prefer veggies. Usually an upcharge but by getting rid of the rice and slaw they called it even. They're in the old Sonic at 801 N West so the indoor eating is small but they have a TV now too. There's outdoor seating as well. All in all the place is still a...

I was excited to try scallops for the first time when I got here. They were out. Everywhere else I've been, they charge $35+ for them so for under $13 I figured it was a deal. But I ended up getting the fried pollock and shrimp. I chose the corn meal breading and didn't regret it. Even though it was basically fried popcorn shrimp, it was still better than most places. The fried Pollock was excellent. I tried the grilled salmon, and it was ok, but not a big fan of salmon. The small bite of tilapia I had was decent also. My only suggestion, is when it comes to the grilled fish, a little seasoning goes a long way. The hush puppies were my favorite part...

The quality and preparedness of their fish is second to none. However, this particular time that I visited, I ordered the southern meal with Pollock as opposed to catfish. Which I always do. This particular time, I felt like regardless of the fact that I ordered Pollock, I believe they gave me, the catfish. There’s no doubt the Pollock is better than the catfish in my opinion. I think it’s easy for them to substitute the catfish while most won’t notice much difference. However, I could tell the difference. Either their fish wasn’t fresh or I got catfish instead of Pollock. Other other meal was good. I was just a little...

It's like your mom's. The location is what it is. It's not a restaurant but there are a few tables. We got our food to go. It's obvious they care if you like the food. We got Okra, Popcorn Shrimp, Hand Breaded Shrimp, Double Cornbread Fried Catfish and Catfish Strip dinners. It all was memories of childhood and my mom's cooking. We don't have pictures of the food because we couldn't stop eating on it in the car! So when we got home pictures would have been misleading for portion sizes which were ample. I wasn't a fan of the fries. But I'm just picky about fries and other people loved them.
