I had an extremely hard trying to decide between a 3 and a 4 for this review but I decided on 3 for only a couple reasons.
The good: the crab was amazing. The seafood selection was vast, although a bit confusing but I settled on the crab selection which was half pound snow crab, half pound of kind grab and half pound of blue crab. This came out to be about 34 dollars or something around there which was well priced for the size and taste.... Except for the blue crab, but I can't blame that on them because that was my first time trying it but I had no clue what I was doing.
The bad: part of what made me bump down the score was the flavor of the side dishes. The side thing of potatoes corn and boiled egg tasted bland. Everything came in a big bag which I didn't like but my girlfriend did and you can tell nothing was seasoned before added to the entree spices.i had garlic butter which tasted fantastic on the crab but it was nearly not existent on my side dishes.
The horrendous: this place needs a complete remodel from the ground up. The restaurant before crazy crab and if it wasn't for a lone banner I would think nothing had changed. It looks extremely run down from the outside and when I got inside I still wasn't completely convinced it wasn't a Chinese buffet, I had to look around there corner to verify there wasnt a buffet line of food awaiting me. This alone took off a star and a half in my opinion.
All in all delicious crab and lobster, but everything else about the place seems kinda sketch. If you are trying to impress someone I would not suggest this place but if you are just out looking for good seafood it's...
Read moreThe atmosphere was outdated, and a bit grimey. Tables and booths were sticky. Waiter was decent. Got our order rather quickly, and delivered the food faster than expected. When our food first arrived I was a bit turned off on the presentation. The table cloth was a white piece of paper, similar to paper you would let a child draw on. The food was served in a clear bag, over a plate. Idk, kind of off putting eating it out of what felt like a trash bag. They offer you a bib and gloves which is cool. They set a small waste basket on your table that was lined with a recycled Walmart bag. The plate doesn't stay hot, therefore if you don't guzzle down your food the butter and seafood get cold, again, off putting. Our ticket was over $50 and we got two waters, a lb of king crab and a lb of crawfish. I was shocked that they literally put ONE small piece of corn on the cob, one small potato, and one hard boiled egg. It was fine that they put his order or crab, and my order of crawfish together, but can we at least get our own corn and potato and egg? The menu states with each meal you receive those items, so I felt jipped. I will say that the garlic butter with the hot seasoning was tasty, but other than that it was a disappointing experience. They could have done better. Potatoes and corn are cheap, should've gave us at least one each. For the price and experience, I would say go...
Read moreMy husband and I with a friend stopped by for dinner last night. It was apparent that this location was absolutely NOT ready to open! The outside was the same, not updated from the previous Chinese Buffet business . The unsightly pile of rocks on the right side of the entry are still there. Upon entry, there was a strange smell and it appeared as if nothing had been done to change the interior aesthetic either. And there was a lot of boxes and junk piled up n the previous bar area. We were seated and looked over the menu - ordering Shrimp fried rice, catfish/shrimp basket and calamari basket. The catfish was under-cooked, the calamari rings were over-cooked and the shrimp fried rice was "ordinary". Cleanliness: Again, this goes back to not being ready to open. The men's restroom was filthy with cigarette butts in the urinals (per hubby). And when I touched the soy sauce bottle and salt/pepper shakers, they were dirty and sticky. With no one else in the restaurant, our waitress just sitting down in a booth opposite our, could have spent her time cleaning things up! I would have given 1 star but I think if they make changes, they might do better. To the owner: Don't open a restaurant until it is absolutely, 100% ready! Your customer's first impression is a lasting one. Not sure...
