Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Wichita

Pulled up to the drive thru and couldn't reach the hanging phone, which is how to order instead of an intercom. A sign said that you could call instead. My phone was dead, so I pulled around to the window. Three employees were at the window, and there were no other customers. A person who was in a black uniform, which was different than all other employees, opened the window. I asked if I could place an order. He replied by asking me if I could read the sign on the other side of the drive thru. I told him that I could not reach the phone so I pulled through to order. I was told that they do not take orders from the window. He was clearly irritated, so I just pulled away from the store instead of going inside. We had a construction job near the store for quite awhile. We had just ordered food from there a few weeks earlier for 6 people working at the site. I was going to do the same, but will not give them my business again after being treated that way by what appeared to be someone in charge. I was hospitalized across the street from hog wild in wichita ks. The Baked Potato was the worse one I have ever gotten. The skin was hard. Around the edge was black. The sour cream looked like cottage cheese. The topping was all around the Potato. I call the store the manager told me he was the one doing the cooking and preparing the orders and there is nothing wrong with them. The fries he cooked and could not be Greasy. This was the worse I have ever gotten. We pay good money and expect to have food worth eating that has a good flavor. I am on a fixed income I wanted something I knew would be good but was I surprised disappointed and was not able to eat it. That was for my dinner. Hospital food is not the best. SAD, DISAPPOINTED AND HUNGRY. Don't have money to order from somewhere else. In my 58 years I have never had a person in management tell me off and Insinuating that I am lying. UPDATED BELOW!!!! FEB 2023 - Amazing food -as always for Hog Wild! Very clean, very efficient!!! HUGE plate sized potatoes with all the trimmings!!! Excellent location with in walking distance of major Hospital if you need to get out for a quick break. Meals can be made to go or sit and stay. Three meat dinner was huge and allowed for leftovers and the sandwich meal was perfect size STUFFED FULL of yummy MOIST meat on toasty buttered bun!!! Staff was friendly and very helpful in making choices. Definitely a must stop!

UPDATED: DECEMBER 23 --this past weekend when we went there the food and service had dropped. The meat was very fatty and greasy and the toast was only toasted on one side and squishy wet on the other side. The store was messy- there was a big puddle of something ( a spilled drink by the trash can) two different staff members came out to clean up tables and then later to restock the condiments but neither one of them cleaned up the wet mess. Two people slid on the mess when leaving the store. Still wasn't cleaned up by the time we left. ...
