Love this place.
If you're looking for a hometown vibe with great personality and fresh pub food, come to Local Flavor. I stopped I'm on a Sunday for lunch and had a choice of brunch or lunch (love that), but was really jonesing for a hamburger.
My first time here, obviously I had to go with the "The Local (classic) that comes with cheddar cheese, and your choice of toppings and sauces. No sense in going through how I had it because everyone likes theirs differently, but it came exactly as I ordered it, with the exception of one area, which is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, and while it might not be totally fair after you hear why, the bottom line is I expected one thing and received another, albeit delicious đ.
I asked for my hamburger medium rare, and it came well done, but that's mainly because it was more of a smash burger than a thick patty, so there really isn't a way to prepare a smash burger medium rare, but someone should have helped me understand that before leaving with my order and expectations different than what would be delivered.
The onion rings were spot on, crispy, a great seasoning in the batter, and onions that didn't pull through the crust when I bit through them. PERFECT!
Now is probably a good time to talk about the service. Extremely friendly wait team, and more than one person checked on me throughout my meal, making eye contact and genuinely interested in how I was enjoying my meal. It was comfortable without being overly hovering. Well done.
One of the best things is, the carry a bunch of local beers from locals breweries. Wichita has a bunch of great local breweries and many of them are represented here, huge bonus. On the day I visited I had iced tea because I was working on my house and didn't want to have a beer just yet, but I'm definitely going back and trying the fish and chips, and a local IPA.
Can't wait to see what other surprises are available, like scratch made pies, and...

Tonight we decided to try Local Flavor. We live just a few blocks away and have been wanting to give them a try. Seat yourself BTW!
Service â Exceptional Food â Variety and very Flavorful Cleanliness â Excellent
First and foremost we must shout out Julie our server... She was welcoming, offered recommendations, checked back as needed and literally seemed to be the SOUL of the restaurant! She treated you as though you were her best friends. Thank you for going above and beyond, and with the kindest approach. We will be back primarily to see you! Thank you.
Food & Drinks : We got the Chips & Salsa to start and it came with 3 different and flavorful salsas all super fresh tasting and chips were on point. Light and crisp.
We split the Chicken Tenders (4) , Jalapeño Bacon Burger with fries and a side of Sweet potato fries. Burger was like similar to Freddy's but lighter, less grease. Jalapeños were flavorful too! Dare I say Dempsey's should watch out when it comes to their fries.
Chicken was fresh, and had many flavors to it as well. Spicy to Sweet, very subtle.
Good Selection of Local Beers and decent amount of cocktails.
Atmosphere was light, bright and simple... could maybe see a pool table somehow (it is tight) in the space and maybe 1 more TV to the left of the entrance.
Excited to sit outside this...
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner here Tuesday night 8/2/22. We were greeted upon entering. They were not busy. The waitress came and took our drink order, but even though she had a handheld device to put orders in, she had to come back by a solid 5 minutes later and ask us our drink order again. When the beers came we ordered fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. She came back around a few minutes later and took our order. My wife ordered three tacos since we were told it was Taco Tuesday. I ordered the Jalapeno Bacon Cheeseburger. Everything came out at the same time. The jalapeno's were pickled with all-spice or clove which was fairly off putting. My wife's tacos were not very full, but they were cheap so it is hard to say you didn't get your money's worth. The asada was grey and very unappetizing. They do have a sauce bar that had different sauces and salsas that she said made the tacos a little better, but not by much. The fish taco fell apart because there was only one corn tortilla and the fish was greasy. My burger was overcooked and dry. The onion rings were the best part of my meal, but they were just from a bag as were the fried green tomatoes. The waitress did not come back to ask us if we wanted another drink so we only had one, but we would have had another. Wichita has too many good restaurants for us to come back...
