I wanted Italian food for my birthday 6 days ago so I decided to dine in at Napoli. I have had meat ball sandwich that was goood. I emailed the website the day before on 7/18/25 for a 7pm reservation for rwo. We had a change and needed to add a 3rd. I then called on the same day early afternoon to ask if I could add another person. A young man answered and stated he couldnt find my original reservation. I explained i did set it up and received a reply back and gave him.the name that replied. The young man stated thats the owner. Nevertheless it was set up. We arrived 5 min before 7pm and table wasnt ready. No problem. We waited. But it seems there were 5 other groups of customers with 7pm time and their tables werent ready. Anyway we were seated and the waiter was very attentive at 1st and then it went downhill from there. My party ordered pasta dinners. I ordered carbinara and requested chicken be added. Also side salad and glass of Pinot Grigio. We ordered an appitizer and my salad came. We drank water but my wine didnt come out yet. Well we waited quite a while well over 30 min and my party noticed the other 7pm parties all had their food and we were still waiting. We were looking for the waiter and couldnt find him. About 5-10 later he came with our food. My carbinara was a spagetti pasta. Ive had carbinara many times at many authentic italian restaurants so this plate looked off. The spagetti was tossed in a pile in a blob of mayonaisse looking sauce. No peas or pancetta. I ate one bite of the pasta and was shocked no flavor and could just taste the mayo sauce. I even had the waiter put pepper and cheese on pasta added no flavor. Now the chicken was hard and looked like torn pieces just thrown in. I had my friend try the chicken and she said the same. I mixed it up a bit hoping it would help and tried one more bite. Nope it was nasty. Mind u still no wine w my pasta the waiter forgot to write it down. When he came back he just said they were out and had to open a new bottle. Lol I just told him to forget it. This was when my other guest stated that my food was not acceptable. I told him just to take it. I was not only very hungry I was angry. I didnt want anything else. So for my birthday dinner I had water and a bit of caesar side salad. I waited for my guests to eat their food. Not once did the waiter ask if he could get anything else for me. No manager or owner asking what happened. They comped the nasty pasta I had. Still charged for the salad though. I will never eat here again it was a joke. Atmosphere was far better than the service and the food! FYI I went to Albero Bistro tonight and ordered a pick up to go of pasta carbinara and by far it was exactly what it should look and taste like!! Added chicken and it was tender. Take heed do...
Read moreMy son wanted to eat Italian food so being an Italian food enthusiast I had to find another new restaurant to try. We used to live near this area and didn't know Napoli opened. To start, everything about Napoli is 5 stars. The entrance was nice, the outside patio was beautifully decorated, the inside ambiance was resemblance of Italy, and the staff was very welcoming. It was a Saturday night and I thought it would be super busy, but I didn't expect to be seated right away. Our waiter was super nice and quick. The food, yes the amazing food, was delectable. Out of this world! We had the calamari, Angel Hair Pasta with Chicken, the KC Strip Steak special from the local farm, a pizza for the kids, a spaghetti with meatball for the other kid, tiramisu cake, and a Gelato pumoni. Let's start with the calamari appetizer. I always try the calamari at new Italian restaurant and it did not disappoint. It was so good the kids, who don't typically eat squid, ate most of the calamari. They even dipped the green sauce, OMG. The pasta was flavored to perfection; you actually don't need a lot of sauce, but more basil would bring out the aroma more. The steak was cooked perfect medium to my liking and marinated so well you don't need A1 sauce. I was most surprised by the freshness of the steak. The mashed potato was made fresh just like advertised as being a scratch kitchen. The kid pizza could feed two and it was also delicious. For the price, I could feed myself at a kid's price, lol. My son loved his spaghetti and meatball. I never knew he could eat spaghetti that fast when I cooked it at home. He literally devoured it and went for the pizzas. As for dessert, I loved both the tiramisu cake and the Gelato. The pumoni flavor had little chunks of pistachios, I think, which made for a fun chewing experience with the smooth texture.
I do have one gripe and that is the Service Charge of 3% that was added for a party of 4. I'm not sure what that is but I couldn't get a good answer from management when asked. I still tip our waiter, Sam, well since he was awesome and very accommodating.
Update: Second time back and still no answer on service fees. Minus 1 star for hidden fees. I just learned that you can request to have this fee remove, but if not I'm not going back until stupid fees like these...
Read moreThe Lows: Service was slow on a slow evening. There were a couple of waiters and only a handful of tables full, and it still took about 10 minutes before someone even stopped by my table once they showed up, they were very nice and attentive). My appetizer came out about 2 minutes before my entree, so I barely had time to touch it. The calamari rings were disappointing. I'm used to the large, juicy calamari strips from other restaurants, these small, overcooked, oversalted rings were just not satisfying. I will not order these again. The Eh: The Mushroom Ragu was ok. The brown butter mushroom sauce was lovely, if subtle, but the oregano completely overwhelmed it, which was a shame. The hazelnuts on the dish tasted a bit stale. More mushroom, less oregano and fresh hazelnuts, and that dish would have been a star. The parpadelle was well seasoned, but unsticking the double noodles was frustrating. Similar story with the cannoli dessert: ok, but nothing to write home about. The filling was nice, with a subtle hint of citrus, but the chocolate chips were overpowering. Quality was a bit less than I expected for the price, but, to be fair, I had high expectations. The Highs: Serving sizes were good. The ambiance is fantastic, and great for a fun evening with friends or for a romantic date. The staff were also on point, and apologetic for the appetizer delay. Very courteous and attentive, possibly the highlight of the experience. In summary, I'd prefer the food to be the highlight of the evening, not its attentive service. I am willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt and try it again some other evening, but not for a while. I think I can get similar or superior Italian fare at A. Cafe or A. Bistro nearby (and at a...
