Taqueria El Fogon — Restaurant in Wichita

I used to love to eat here not anymore. They always have different people working there. Everytime I go I see different faces and last time I was there I had the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant!! There's an elderly lady just standing over the counter idk what her job is supposed to be there but she didn't greet me when I walked in and she was giving me the Stinky eye the whole time I was waiting for the cashier to charge me and to give me the food I had oder. When I got home my food was cold and old. I called them and told them I've never had this problem with them before and I was a little upset. She told me to go back for a refund and to bring in the food with me. When I arrived again the lady was still standing there she didn't greet me. And as I was explaining to the cashier what was wrong within y food the elderly woman was talking over me to the other lady's ear saying very rude comments about me. I heard her and I said to her I just want a refund bc I'm not eating food that I'm supposed to pay for you guys to make it fresh and is not. Again the lady was saying very rude comments about me. So I asked her are you the boss or the manager? She said no I'm the employee. Well what is you position here? Bc came in, left came back and youre still standing in the same spot didn't greet me at all the 2 times I walking in and your being very disrespectful towards me. I said I wasn't going to talk to her anymore to let me talk to a manager or someone in a position who is going to fix the problem instead of harrasingme in front of customers. She told the cashier just give her the whole amount of the refund. I don't think I would ever come back to this place ever again as much as I love they're food her customer service was horrible and she disrespected me for no reason. I asked to talk to a manager, I told them I wasn't going to eat food that was not good and I asked for my money back She refused me all 3 of them and she asked me to bring the food back which I did when she saw the food it had 1or 2 bites she said I almost are it all and that's why I want a refund bc I had already ate it all when clearly the food was still there. This review is for Taquiera El Fogon #2, operating out of a trailer at 25th and Arkansas. Same owners, just never been to their original location.

As per my M.O., I went with the torta asada. It is large and reasonably-priced (6.12 after tax), and with a staff of three the service was expedient. However, I found the meat to be of low quality, very fatty with tidbits of gristle -- totally unacceptable in a torta. Additionally, the avocado was pureed, mixed in with slivers of onion and tomatoes only apparently for visual garnish. No jalapeños or serranos, no mayo or crema discernible. Came with two salsa cups: The verde is very spicy, with a texture almost reminiscent of a very finely-minced salsa cruda, with hints of cucumber, basil, and avocado; The roja is marginally less spicy, more of a liquid texture, and having a robust chile flavor.

The menu also includes other standard street-type fare. Additionally, several types of organ meat is available; I noted tongue and stomach but perhaps there is more.

Just a couple of outdoor tables until they can convert the old laundromat into their new digs. I wish them the best of luck, but I will not likely...

For being my first time customer at el fogon my experience was just horrible. Had called in an order with a couple of more friends seperatly to pick it up. When we got there we told them our names and the separate orders. I paid for mine and my friends while waiting on our rest if the company. We never got out food! We spend almost an hr waiting after paying.when i told them to just refund my money they very rudely told me no. Because the rest of the people haven't got there yet? I look at her saying than why make me pay if i wasn't getting my food? When food was already made getting cold behind the counter. Without me knowing why i was waiting so long. The front girl gave me the my money back basically throwing it at me without any explanation or apology for my wait or anything!? Like what kind of customer service is that? First of the customer is always right even if wrong in a food restaurant! She was trying to blame me for everything! I DO NOT RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE AT ALL CUSTOMER SERVICE IS RUDE AS HELL AND THEY WON'T GIVE YOU YOUR FOOD AFTER PAYING FOR IT AND MAKE YOU WAIT FOR AN HOUR WITHOUT ANY REASON OR...
