Came in around 8pm on 5/11, they were fully staff and slow. There was a lot more people at the bar than seated for dinner. There was a table with a party around 10 people, then maybe 3 couples eating. Plenty enough waiters and waitresses, to the point some were just walking around in twos to chat, and some sitting down at an empty table to wrap silverware. The server was nice, but completely disorganized and more distracted with talking to his other coworkers. We had several mishaps during our service. We didn’t get naps, silverware, or straws. We had to ask when food and drinks were already served. My drink was flat, so he ran to get another with no ice. It was to the point where we decided to not say anything more because he would have run back again to fix something else, and didn’t want to risk him possibly messing with our food out of spite. I asked if I could taste one of the sauces used in a pasta dish and was told I could not. Then we ordered and was told they ran out. My food tasted great, but it was cold, like it sat out for a while. We both mutually agreed he seemed like a nice fellow, but lacked the ability to provide adequate service. He didn’t bother asking if the food was okay, and like I mentioned, we just chose not to say anything else so we could finish and leave. He came back to pickup the merchant slip while we were still at the table, which truthfully is unprofessional for me. Gave 2 stars only because the food did taste good, but after seeing how the staff basically swarmed to sit at the booth right next to us to chat and hang out while our server did this too, was just so unbelievable, that I won’t go back.
I did forget about this review, and apparently 10 months went by. Randomly thought to try this place again. People were walking out on wait times. The server was talking to the staff and overhead him mentioning he just turned 21 & went to Mexico. While he was chatty, we went 10 minutes without ordering. When the apps came out, he seemed zoned out and was not even apologetic about having forgotten to take the dinner order. My kids by then were complaining why they didn’t have their food. Once the dinner arrived, immediately asked for the to-go boxes and check. The food was mediocre. I think the only thing I liked was the grits and that is a little sad. I didn’t make a fuss, just took the food that was barely...
Read moreWent for the first time tonight, things started out well - walked in at 5p, was seated right away in a booth in the bar area.
We waited about 20 minutes after being seated before having to ask a passing hostess for a server. I was told by the hostess that there was a "section swap" and our server would be right with us. The hostess proceeded to place more guests in this area, and we were the last table that the server stopped at to get our drink order. We decided to order the appetizers at this time to minimize the return visits needed by the server as she was clearly overwhelmed.
Appetizers were out in about 10 minutes - which was nice, and they were good - but it was another 20 minutes before our server came back for our dinner order and realized we didn't have our water or drinks yet. They arrived quickly after our server realized that the drinks weren't there and we asked this person for waters as we still didn't get ours at this point.
30 minutes later we received our food - ordered more beer as this was the first time a server checked on us since we ordered our dinner. One meal was forgotten, I assume, because it took another 15 minutes before our came out.
The manager, who I would hope was made aware of the situation but may not have been or didn't care, never ONCE stopped by to ask about how things were going or touched base with us about our visit. He was definitely walking laps around the floor, but mostly just hanging out at the POS terminal closest to the kitchen. At one point he began helping, but it definitely wasn't until the staff was already in the weeds from the chatter I was overhearing.
Didn't order dessert because we were already in the place for 2 hours at this point and were done waiting for service.
I would hope this isn't the standard at this establishment, from reviews I can tell this isn't always the case. Overall the food was alright, but the experience from start to finish was definitely not stellar. I feel like this was a lack of communication and coordination between front of house staff.
Fortunately or unfortunately depending on perspective, I don't think we'll be back...
Read moreWe went in for the first time today. Atmosphere was great, food was good, service was decent. Today was Sunday football, game was Cowboys vs. Rams. The table next to us was three men over 50 - all in cowboys jerseys. The table behind them who had a 7 year old boy and a third trimester pregnant woman cheered for the rams and the table with the three grown cowboys fans started bullying that table. A little later I cheered on the rams and they began calling me curse words. Because I’m a woman, they then started interrogating my husband who had his back against them and didn’t know what was going on until I told him. My husband went to the bathroom and one of the small men followed him in, threatening to beat him up in the parking lot. When he came out, one of the other small men that were sitting there bowed up to my husband. It was THEN, that our server came out and offered our checks. I said no and pulled my server aside to let him know those men were drunk. The manager, Paige, came up and said, “I’m going to tell you the same thing I told them,” & went over not cursing or standing up to each other in public. We were border line asked to leave because they overserved 50+ year old men with micholeb ultras who were ready to fight over a football game.
Overall, not a good first experience. I genuinely feel like the situation could have been handled better. After the incident, our server, who was also serving this table, continued serving them alcohol despite them clearly being an issue.
We felt unsafe leaving the restaurant. One of the small men that were at the table threatening us were outside and i felt obligated to record our entire walk to our car in fear of our safety or...
