So, to start the managers are great. They always help everywhere needed. I've never seen such a supportive group of management in my almost 20 years of cooking and serving. It's a shame they have a terrible core staff, the servers who have been there the longest are in a tight knit group of ignorance and bullying type of attitudes. I'm not the only person who has spoken on this. But a body is a body. The one thing that always got to me was, the customer should always come first, always, it shouldn't take 20 to 30 mins to get a drink from the bar bc the bartender behind the bar dislikes the person serving the drinks. Mind you it was for no reason, the server never said anything rude or inconsiderate just a friendly hello(I've seen first hand multiple ppl in this situation). Then she heard, the core servers do that bc they know you won't last long enough to want to be nice to you. Any time I've trained anyone, I do it with a smile and a guaranteed, you're doing a great job, all I can ask is that you're trying your best. But not here, they are rude, ignorant and blatantly inconsiderate. The 5 or 7 servers that are like this, have a hold over most managers, not all of them, but most. They have sway in everyone who works there. They discuss things that nobody should know about and spread it wild like a fire. It's nobody's business that someone isn't up to par bc you didn't know how to train a new hire. The girls also talk smack on anyone who starts doing a good job bc their hours aren't as good as the other person's, once again nobody's fault but their own. Majority of the older staff take orders, punch them in and wait for someone to run their food before reappearing at the window. Everybody hangs out at the bar bc that's their best friend, and why not have a 15 min conversation when everybody else is doing your job for you. They are above side work and God forbid you ask them to help. Even when management approach them, they help while they are being watched then disappear once the managers have other things they have to take care of. The kitchen is well organized and runs like a well oiled rig. They have there properties on point. The kitchen deserves the praise they receive, as does the back of house staff. Hr is fantastic, they actually help, take care of issues and are there if you ever need anything. The HR team is very friendly, never there to judge and always there to assist with any situation. The regional manager is fantastic as well, she always stops in and has the most upbeat attitude and positive personality, she really knows how to make the staff feel welcomed and jovial to be around. Over all if the ignorant servers and mind you, it's literally 5 or maybe 7 of them, I would have loved to stay at this job. The money is great, management, back of house, perks, and incentives, all that doesn't it weight the disappointment of the rude, bullying servers...
Read moreJust 1/2 mile off Route 81 exit 68. First time at a Red Robin. Parking lot is clean, interior also, which includes a very clean restroom (complete with paper towels and not that I needed them but they also have seat protectors. . Maybe I'm wired differently but if I see a nice clean restroom in a restaurant I like to think their keeping their kitchen clean too. If the restroom is not kept right and the public sees it what do you think the kitchen is going to look like?
AC works great. Ordered the classic Red Robin cheeseburger with a side salad. Forget your rare, medium rare, medium or well done choices here it is Pink or Not Pink!
The meal was very good, I mean for four dollar more than a BigMac it was much better, the burger patty was bigger than the bun and what's not to love about that. By the way they have a vegetarian burger (against my religion but it looked really good). The salad is all you can eat so I had to have at least two, so I did. Salad was fresh and crisp, nothing wilted in it.
Our server was Brittany and she was attentive and explained the menu for us first timers.
I skipped the beer as it was lunch and I have many miles to drive but I knew you needed to know about your choices. They have a large selection, not huge but big enough so that you'll find something you'll like. 16 ounce drafts are $6.99, there is a bottle selection as well (not sure of prices. Here's something interesting at least it was to me as I don't get out much, they have "Growlers" to go. 64 ounces of your favorite draft for $16.99. Perfect for a takeout for two with a couple of burgers and their buckle chips (fried pickles). This Red Robin will stay on my favorite list. If you find this review helpful please give it a thumbs up.
Ps I took a photo of the beer selection, posted here. Also another important must know is that each table has that Wonderful Heinz ketchup! Zucchini fries with ranch dip were excellent, light, hot and crispy. Enjoy...
Read more2nd visit to Red Robin. 1st visit to Wilkes-Barre location. Don't know how, or why we made that mistake twice. But just as the first experience, no different. No surprise here. Exceptionally unimpressed with the food, the prices, portion size, etc. Prices unusually high, and portion quantity unusually small. Absurdly overpriced burgers, barely better than BK or McD's. Perhaps a step above that quality, but not by much, and for substantially higher prices. About triple fast food prices, when others are double, and give you more. You can get a much better, bigger burger in a lot of places for 10 bucks or less. Denny's, Perkins, Ruby Tuesday, etc.
I ordered a Shrimp Cod duo, which was a joke. I was sadly disappointed by the little basket with 2 very small fish fillets, and five tiny miniature fried shrimp they brought me, which cost almost 14 bucks. It was laughably absurd, and barely qualified as a meal. But on the up side, they give you unlimited, or so called, "bottomless fries." So you will need them to make up for the shortage of real food you'll be missing. Same for my wife, who ordered a cheeseburger, and doubled the patties. It was mediocre, at best, and kept her longing for some of those extra fries.
The only thing that prevents them from getting one star is the exceptionally good service from server, Shawn. Nice guy, personable, pleasant sociable, kind, and helpful. Very professional. They seem to do that part well.
This is the makeup of a pathetically weak meal for a $36.00 check that left us hungry once we got home, and even feeling a bit broke, and cheated:
Cheeseburger $11.39 Extra patty $3.19 Onion Rings $1.69 Shrimp Cod Duo $13.49 Cherry Coke $2.99 Water $0.00 -10% military discount -$3.28 Sales Tax $1.77 15% Gratuity $5.15
There are some good places around to eat. This is not one of them. Do yourself a favor. Eat...
