Wow! First time at a full-service Chick-fil-A. I never understood what all the buzz was about as I thought this was just another fast-food restaurant. But as soon as I arrived, I realized I was wrong.
The first thing I noticed was the number of staff members available. They had four actual humans working the drive through to just take orders with 2 full drive through lanes. An amazing experience to see. Human works with an iPad type device walked to each car to take orders. We did not use the drive through but went in for the full experience.
Inside I noticed a small crowd waiting to order with two cash registers open and operated by humans. We waited our turn and that gave us time to brows the menu that I had never seen. We then asked several questions, the only complaint I had was the casher could not answer all my questions, for example they did not know what fruit was in the fruit salad. Also, they did not know if they had onions for their sandwiches.
Anyway, we were provided a table sign and told they would deliver our food to the table. Amazing, food brought to the table, no fast-food place does this anymore. We found a nice booth and it had flowers on them, everything was spotless clean. The food arrived very fast and we were surprised how fast. The order was accurate as we tried many items to sample all they have to offer.
My favorite was the Grilled Nuggets, I tend to prefer Grilled items due to the lower fat content for my strict Athlete diet. But most fast-food places botch the Grilled items. These however exceeded all expectations. I found moist delicious marinated boneless breast of chicken. The marinated chicken was very tasty and was better with no sauce, just right out of the container was the best way to eat them.
We tried the Chick-fil-A® Nuggets, they were good but not as good as the grilled nuggets. The chicken was better than most nuggets and they had a wide range of sauces to choose from. I tried two Polynesian Sauce and the Sriracha Sauce. I found the Sriracha Sauce to be better on the waffle fries. While the Polynesian I preferred on the chicken. Both dipping sauces had lots of flavors and added to the enjoyment of the nuggets and tenders that I tried next.
The tenders were wat better than the nuggets, the meant was so moist and tender. Cooked to perfection. It tasted like fresh chicken with a light batter on them. The tenders were delicious alone or dipped into my favorite sauce. These were amazing and I would get tenders again with any meal.
Next, I got a Chick-fil-A® Deluxe Sandwich. The sandwich was ok, but a few things might make it better next time. First, I did not like that it was on white bread, but now see they have a multi grain option which sadly was not offered to me at the register. Also, the pickles, tomato and lettuce are very small servings and more like other fast-food restaurant that just toss these items on but don't give a lot of care. I would see if I could get extra of all 3 next time as there were just not enough vegetables to make the sandwich standout beyond other fast-food restaurants. The chicken its self was slightly better then average for fast food, but it was fried. The cashier should have steered me to the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with the multi grain bun, but because I wanted pickles, she gave me the fried option. So, I will have to try the grilled sandwich on a return trip. I was very disappointed that onion was not even offered.
Waffle fries appear to be the standard side, however both my traveler and myself though they were under cooked. Never having them before we assume they do not try to make them crispy. Instead, they were very tender waffle fried of potato. Tasty, but a crunchy version we would have liked better. Next time I go, I will ask if they can cook them a little longer.
Anyway, if an opportunity presents its self I would return. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants...
Read moreToday Monday October 28, 2024 at 9:45am-9:50am this morning I had decided to go to my favorite fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A that’s just 1-2 minutes away from the hotel where I’m staying at for my mobile job.
This Chick-fil-A is located in Wilkes Barre Township Address: 989 Schechter Dr Wilkes Barre, PA 18702
I been going to this Chick-fil-A at this location for this past week to eat and work my mobile job instead of staying and working from my hotel room that’s where I’ll usually go and spend most of my day working and being at peace at my favorite fast food restaurant.
At approximately 11:40am while I was working my mobile job and on a phone call with someone while deciding what to order for my lunch there for the day i was approached by the owner Jeff Snyder and he proceeded to say the following
“you can’t be here all day just sitting here”
“Using up all our WiFi “
“You have to order something to eat and go”
“unless you’re going to be ordering and eating all day long”
I then asked him how do you know I be here all day are you watching me? and Why are you rushing me to order?
He then responds
“His workers tell him” “Just hurry up and order something”
Then he walks off,
I was so shocked 😳, lost for words🫢, and disappointed 🤦🏽♂️ this had happened to me at my favorite place of fast food.
Just wow!😮 I was so disgusted because I was on the phone with someone as this happened and they witnessed and heard everything he had said to me.
I felt so uncomfortable being there afterwards i felt so harassed and felt him being very discriminated towards me.
My day was just ruined by this so I packed my bag hurried up and ordered my lunch meal to go before he came back and went to eat it in the parking lot in my car I was too uncomfortable to even stay and eat in the restaurant while he was still there keeping an eye on me I couldn’t even enjoy my favorite meal today.
I don’t understand if every time I come here to work I always order something while I’m working, I never used their WiFi but even if I did I am a guest and it’s free for the guest to use correct?
This is the same owner that preached about treating every guests as a family member on his restaurant...
Read moreI went with my family and ordered three southwest veggie wraps, two ice creams, and a large fry with three Chick-fil-A sauces and three creamy salsa packets. Instead of the veggie wraps, we received three grilled chicken wraps. So, we told one of the 8 workers who were standing around talking to each other behind the cash register that they gave us the wrong wraps. They told us it was the same thing, just with chicken. But we wanted the veggie wrap, so they took the wraps back and made new ones. They seemed confused as to what we were ordering, so we showed them the picture of the wrap from the Chick-fil-A website. They said they knew what we were talking about. They brought three southwest veggie wraps, but they were missing the cheese and had about two small spoonfuls worth of beans and corn mixed together. It was mostly lettuce in a wrap. They also forgot the chick fil a sauce for our fries. And when we asked for spoons for our ice cream, they walked away to get it and never came back, so we went back again after sitting down and finally got the spoons. We made about 7 trips to the counter or to a worker, just trying to get basic service.
We were not impressed with the service- the workers seemed distracted and not concerned with making the order right. The workers were young, and sat talking in a group or with headphones on. It was not busy when we came in, but it was close to closing time. Still, a whole baseball team came in after we had gotten our order and they seemed to be served just fine. The most disappointing part of the visit was that our sandwiches couldn't seem to be made right even after going back to the counter three times just for the sandwiches to clarify what we wanted. We were never rude to the staff, and we ate the sandwiches because we were on a road trip and couldn't keep wasting time. It was quite frustrating to have our order so messed up when it seemed...
