McDonald's — Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre Township

Quick, polite service and the food is great. The Quarter-Pounders I get had a bit more grease on them than other chains in the area but I happen to prefer it that way. The lobby is clean, but a remodeling wouldn't hurt. This location IS high-traffic (foot and wheel) so I can see where some of the interior gets beat up. People leave you alone, I am shocked I wasn't bothered by unruly children and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Update 2/10/2022: They rebuilt the McDonald's from the ground up. Even though I enjoyed the place the way it was, I can see why they wanted to Update. All of these chains seem to be going this route. No complaints at all. It's even more quiet than before, the food quality is just as good as I remember it (hot and fresh), and the staff is very friendly and hospitable. Still go here on occasion for a fast-food treat and don't leave unhappy, just full. 👍

Update 4/05/23: Got a free meal voucher from a friend at work. It wasn't expired and didn't specify which stores would honor it. I took it in, the cashier showed it to the manager while he was in the phone and refused to honor it. This man is usually pretty nice but he must have had a bad day because he acted like a complete a-hole. Annoyed, I saw what might have been the regional manager, owner, supervisor, or whatever title she was. She completely talked around the reason for the refusal stating "different branches" , "signatures", or whatever corporate lingo they train them in just to get us (customers) to stop talking to them. They just lost a customer. Their food is getting more expensive and less appetizing anyway. Good excuse to get away from egotistical fast-food chains and their sub-par food...

I have never left a review for McDs because it’s McDs, you either like it or you don’t 😆! Today though, we ordered on our lunch break for something quick, ordered ahead of time to grab and go, simple right? Gave them my order #, waited 10 mins, finally they came back and said they didn’t have our order. Hey, not their fault, they’re just one of many workers, but they said they’d get their manager. The manager came over and explained something to the effect of “the order didn’t come from your phone so that’s why we didn’t receive it, it uses geo tracking”…odd how they received the order just at that same moment then right, especially considering the phone it came from was still in the same spot, miles away! After another few minutes, the order came out, at this point I had been in the store waiting for ~20-25 minutes, which would be long if there were anyone else inside waiting (the drive-thru was long, I get that! But that’s poor management to have no one in FOH), I asked the manager if something could be done regarding a partial refund, to which she snapped back and said “there’s no way I’m giving you a refund, we made this order in 3 mins” and then I countered that the order should have been ready when we were quoted on the app to which she interrupted me and said “it’s not our fault that the order didn’t come through, but I’m not refunding you”. I find it ironic, laughable, and frustrating that a manager clearly cared so little about her job and the customer that her response was to be so aggressive and standoffish. CAN I? YES, WILL I? NO..A few issues.I ordered a McMuffin, paid and pulled around.pulled around. Counted my money and had enough for a hash brown.I said,I’m sorry maam how much is a HB because I have the exact change.She looked at me and said $2.39,but does this look like a order window? I said ok I guess the response your looking for is no, I said sorry can I add it please? She said she dosnt do orders here. I said well Ive seen people add things here in the past. She said well im sorry thats the past and does this look like an order window? I asked, so what? You can do it? She said CAN I? YES, WILL I? NO. I was told I am free to go back around. I said there’s a bunch of cars and I’ll be late for work. Then, I was told to think about what I want to order next time. So I suppose that was her attempting to give me a hard life lesson. That wasn’t all… I go there all the time, my order is always around $2.15, today it was almost $5 for just a McMuffin no egg. So I had the amount for my usual order. So I had to run home to get a $5 bill. That’s why I was going to be late for work and couldn’t go back around for my life lesson. Then I used a old silver stamp $5 bill and sense the kid was about 18 they didn’t think it was real. I usually never have a issue when the two older ladies are running the place. Quite frankly I even chat with the older lady daily. But this girl just either didn’t like me or her job. And it wasn’t like I had a attitude.
