I was hoping to find a great "Dog" joint.. this place has potential, but missed the mark for me. Upon entering I asked..whats the lunch special?.(like 2 chili dogs w/ fries for $10)...I was told..."all dogs are different prices..so we can't have specials"...hummm...ok..every single hotdog establishment I have ever been to has some type of grouping special..yes, I have been to many. Next I noticed, no dogs at the ready, all cooked to order..ok..but very timely... I ordered "Lord of the Rings" and the "Chicago" dogs and fries..$ 18.32..total..wowzer
Lord of the "ring" as my dog was served w/ one cut up onion ring layed across the bun that looked like a rib cage..bacon wrapped dog, luke warm temp, w/ hot honey and their sig sauce..needed more topping or a bigger dog..I had to arrange the "ribs to stay on the bun..for $6.50..meh..
The "Chicago" was a mess..so soggy it fell thru the bottom..1st thing I noticed was no celery salt..what?..then the relish was not true chicago style..(bright green) it was yucky cheap sweet..dog again was luke warm..come on....$6.00
Fries, well they were not cooked to order, I got what was leftover from the to go order that was picked up while I was sitting waiting for my order..Barely warm(no heat lamp)..$4 It seems they could only do one order at a time!??..man ..have some stuff ready to sell and do some specials..
Atmosphere was bad, no music no friendly chatter..blah..I felt awkward sittng waiting for my dine in food, thr place smelled like a state fair, probably from the fried oreos offered..opted to stare at my phone.
What I take from this is, designer dogs that are over priced and poorly crafted, that were not cooked to temp, I did notice the have a sign at the register." This is not a fast food place"..obviously others have said something...maybe have some dogs in pot ready to sling for specials? ..they are geneally a cheap quick food. ..I have pics but google is not offering me to ad them. I will try to edit...
Read moreToday… as my friend and I drove across the state, all that filled our minds was the stabbing pain in our stomachs and the jab of hunger—nothing else existed but our corn dog cravings. I searched and searched desperately looking for a restaurant, any restaurant selling corn dogs. We stopped at many a store but only left with sand in our shoes and disappointment in our hearts, with no sign of a single corn dog. Then, just as hope was fading, we stumbled upon the one and only Dominion Dogs. As we walked in, a kind woman greeted us at the door. The service? Impeccable. She seated us and took our order right away. We excitedly awaited our divine dogs, chatting excitedly as the delectable aroma of golden fried goodness drifted to our noses. Soon, our waiter emerged from behind the counter, seemingly glowing, carrying a heavenly platter of four beautiful corn dogs. Our first bite went a little like this: the golden crust gave way to soft, pillowy dough, wrapping a perfectly salty hot dog. Every bite was a symphony of flavors—a true slice of corn dog heaven. Just as we were finishing our four dogs, the voice of an angel asked if we wanted eight more tots. And boy, oh boy—the little corn dog bites? Dangerous. You pop one and suddenly the whole basket is gone. Addictive doesn’t even cover it. That lunch didn’t just leave us satisfied—it left us feeling like we had experienced a true taste of corn dog paradise. Not to mention the price of only $2 a dog! Just writing about it makes me want to go back. If any dog lover is near Dominion Dogs, don’t walk—run. Bring your appetite and maybe an...
