Read moreI was driving by and caught this restaurant with the corner of my eye. Me and the rest of my family visited to check it out later that evening and were blown away. Entering the store you are greeted by the friendly staff who is quick and alert. When seated the first thing you notice is the simple yet very clean and comfortable atmosphere. The menu was simple (in a good way) it described what the meals were and there was a great variety in what you could pick. There was also a solid set of vegetarian option incase that's a concern. The food itself was amazing and the absolute highlight of the visit. The dishes are hearty and have alot on them. So there is no fear to whether or not it will fill you up. The shrimp and fish were especially well seasoned and i savored each bite. After the main course we felt the temptation of trying the tacos. The tortillas were hand made and were amazing the meats were also very good and savory. The tacos give the exact feeling you may have when in a Mexican family party. We were truly amazed by this new hidden gem in the area. The food is well priced delicious the staff is amazing with a very likeable family running it. It has surely and truly become a favorite of ours and we are sure to be back to visit often. If you want a traditional Mexican Hispanic dinner you are sure to enjoy...
Read moreThis restaurant was the best surprise of our trip! We finally found a local Mexican place with food that is memorable! We got the bean dip to go with our chips. A black bean based dip with queso on top, it's great to see a easy coast place offer this option. For dinner I had the carnitas platter. What a delight! The carnitas were tender with a heat that wasn't overpowering but built up over time - delicious! The refried beans were again black bean based, very tasty. The rice was a big surprise for me as I'm not usually a fan. It was cooked perfectly with a hint of peppers in the flavor, very tasty and went well with carnitas. My wife has the vegetarian potatoe taquitos which were a treat. Both entrees' were generous in portion and we couldn't quite finish everything (Sally no room to try dessert- next time then). Our servers were very friendly and were quick to bring out our order. It was our waitress that suggested the carnitas platter over the burrito, and I'm thankful she did. The drinks were very good, the margarita was perfect, and for soft drinks they have Coke products (including Coke Zero so this review should be 6 stars). It's not in the usual location for Williamsburg eateries, but it's not too far either, well...
