TLDR: worth a visit; food is tasty and quick; margarita hit the spot; I want to go back to try more!
First time stopping in. Great, small-scale, family-owned location serving typical Tex-Mex as well as specialty South-American fare. Seated in less than a minute arriving; 6ish-person self-seating bar available as well. Quickly ordered a House Margarita and food to-go. Drink served within a couple minutes; house-made sweet and sour mix on the rocks - super tasty with a well-balanced amount of tequila. Food arrived super quick (approx 5 minutes max from ordering); only had a few sips of my drink before the food arrived. Did not try the drive-through, but it appears they can definitely turn food around quick enough to allow ordering from there. Ate food at home within about 20 minutes from packaging; fried chimichanga (1 chicken, 1 ground beef) with rice and beans. Chimi's were perfectly fried, a little on the small side. Flavor of chicken and beef was great; really distinct and you pick up the spicing distinctly. Substantial amount of rice and beans; typical flavor to most other similar restaurants. Came with a small bag of chips with salsa; also typical to others. Super filling, taste was exactly what I was hoping for, and I plan on going back to try more options! Check Sabor Maya out!...
Read moreWe were traveling on vacation to colonial williamsburg and found this wonderful authentic mexican restaurant. The quality of the food was great and the combination of traditional american breakfast.Foods with authentic mexican foods was wonderful for a family where our youngest kid enjoyed pancakes. While the teenagers and adults enjoyed quality mexican food.
The flavors were wonderful, and they had a great selection. It appears they recently changed their menu and had a very extensive selection of options.
I enjoyed shrimp tacos and then wished I had ordered the mixed fajitas my teenager got. His was large enjoyed for 2 meals. Both were great.
My only frustration was getting the bill at the end and was charged $4.99 for the kids 8oz cup of milk and a second $4.99 for the milk refill. That price seemed very high for the small cup of milk but I am not deductible a star as I never ask the price before ordering. A great restaurant but I would use caution before ordering something that does not have a price listed. All the general menu items had...
Read moreThis place was fantastic! If you're ever in Williamsburg you have to check this place out. The staff was excellent in service and with 2 people they were very efficient working together. The food is excellent . Probably the best I've tasted in Mexican cuisine. And I've eaten at lot of different Mexican restaurants in and around Williamsburg. This one is the best by far. You can't judge a book by it's cover from outside ( the old yellow long John Silver's building) but it is very clean and well kept on the inside. The staff is friendly and helpful service with a smile. Very cozy atmosphere will be back. They're a newly owned family restaurant in Williamsburg and I encourage y'all to try it out for yourselves. They also have a live Dee jay for live entertainment at night that they are working on for nightlife entertainment. So check this place out when you're out and about. Located across from the Marathon station. And casa oyster place right next door both businesses worth a look into their...
