I first walked in I liked the place. Because it had more space. This is my first time there. I was kind of disappointed with the food that was served, as a matter of fact I ordered one of the most expensive things on the menu and it wasn't even half as good as the same item at other Cancun restaurants or Mexican restaurants, even in different states.I I ordered a molcajete and was disappointed because all the other restaurants were the same but this one was different and not in a good way. I think I know what I'm talking about because I always order the same thing because it's good and I don't care how much it costs. It was missing a lot of items that the others put in the same dish maybe they were out of a lot of items in the food and they thought they could just put anything in there and think that I'll accept it but I didn't want to make a big deal cuz I was with friends so I just took it all home. It would have been okay if they told me that they were missing some items then I could have made a choice of something else but I was not...
Read moreI've loved going to Cancun for a couple years now, as they have the only/best tex-mex style food in the area, and the flavors are exactly what you'll find from restaurants down south. The people are also phenomenal - they're friendly and incredibly kind. Truly a great place to go.
Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, there's been a pretty noticeable downgrade in the quantity of food you get and an uptick in prices. The portion sizes used to fill the plate, with large servings that would leave you stuffed, but they've gotten so small that you're left hungry at the end. The enchiladas now are about half to two-thirds the size that they were a year ago, and even the cheap rice and beans servings are smaller.
The prices have also skyrocketed. It doesn't matter where you are, three soft tacos, an enchilada, rice and beans should not cost $30. I'm sure I'll keep stopping in once in a while, but instead of a twice-weekly thing, it's going to be a once every couple of months thing...
Read moreI have enjoyed Cancun Mexican Grill for many years. The service was top-notch. We had great hopes with the news of adding another in Williamston. Sadly this location hasn't lived up to the reputation with us. After two consecutive bad experiences, I have had no choice but to give a negative review in hopes something is done to improve the service. This review is primarily directed at the take-out service. Our first bad experience came with a missing meal from our order. The second bad experience I ordered Pollo Toluca which is suppose to come with corn or flour tortillas. None were included in the order. My kids order the grilled chicken (Served with Mexican rice according to the online menu) however, to our surprise they just got little grilled pieces of chicken with no rice for both orders. Not acceptable. Someone needs to be checking these orders more carefully so this doesn't happen. Food is too expensive these days for this kind...
