Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Willingboro Township

While I have found all Rita's to serve flavorful product and have customer friendly staff, our local Rita's here in Willingboro NJ from a five star level to something far beyond! I love their many colorful and so delicious ice flavors (each captures the fruit of its name perfectly - just tried a sample of the Mango: "Wow!") and how great is it to be offered a FREE sample each time before you order? But that's just 5-stars. Where Dave, the shop owner, goes above and beyond is both his selection of great staff, kids who are encouraged to stay in school and go on to college with support of not only their job here, but with his personal concern for each and his mentorship! Dave is not only the owner/boss teaching young staff the disciplines of great friendly customer service that will carry them on in their later lives, Dave is also a blessing and father to each of them. Even when someone screws up, he doesn't fire them, rather he coaches them on the lessons of live, encourages improvement and gives them that second chance too rare in employee life these days.

Dave, I salute YOU for being the family friendly businessman and friend you are, but also for putting encouraging and supporting life values above profit, and in doing so its great to see the 'good guy' (and his wife who does the same) doing well in all regards. New Jersey and our local community are blessed to have you with us.

PS: And Adriana even pointed out that my combination of ice flavors I was ordering would be better served with a slightly different combination! That's either good service beyond her youthful years, or a sign of excellent training which I see in all your staff. ...

The employees were great but the manager was an ill-tempered and extremely rude man. My little brother had won 6 vouchers for a free regular water ice in a raffle at a nearby church. We spent 4 of them no problem. Then today we tried to spend the last 2, and the manager tells us we can only spend them 1 at a time (this is not stated anywhere on the voucher and we were also never told this when spending the other 4 vouchers) so we decided to cancel the order, leave, and come back after we finished shopping. When we returned to the location after shopping we decided we would simply order and use the vouchers separately to avoid any issues. So I try to order a water ice and immediately the manager attacked me saying that I had already been here and ordered, and that we could only use 1 voucher per day (not only is this stated nowhere on the voucher, but it was also different from the other lie he told us earlier) when we calmly told him we hadn't used the voucher earlier and that we had left without buying anything, he continued to verbally attack us and called us liars. Finally he allowed us to use one of the vouchers and order, but after waiting for 20 minutes, we never received the water...

I can’t say enough great things about the new and improved Rita’s in Willingboro! Ever since the new ownership took over last year, this place has seriously stepped up its game. They've added a ton of new custard and Italian ice flavors, which makes every visit exciting because there's always something new to try. You can tell they really care about quality and keeping things fresh. The staff is one of the friendliest teams around—always smiling, helpful, and efficient. Honestly, their customer service has always been solid, even under the previous ownership, but now it's somehow even better! The vibe is just super positive. And a huge shoutout to the new owners for finally reopening the inside of the store! The old owners made excuse after excuse for not reopening post-COVID, but these guys made it happen, and it’s made a big difference. The lines can get long during peak hours (because everyone knows this is the go-to spot), but they move quickly and the wait is absolutely worth it. If you’re anywhere near Willingboro, do yourself a favor and check this place out. It’s hands down the best...
