Review (5/20/2025) This was my third visit to Black Rock Coffee. Overall, the coffee is great—comparable in quality to Starbucks—but the prices are also similar, if not a bit high. I ordered two large drinks and one Lil Rockers, and the total came out to over $20.

The barista who took my order at the drive-thru was friendly and pleasant, which I appreciated. However, the barista who handled the payment and handed me the drinks was noticeably unfriendly. She didn’t ask if I wanted to use my rewards points, didn’t offer a straw, and after handing me the drinks, she immediately shut the window and walked away without a word.

I didn’t leave a tip because I felt the drinks were already overpriced, and I got the sense that my lack of tipping may have influenced her attitude—which is disappointing, especially since she wasn’t the one who made the drinks.

I've had the Pumpkin Spice and Gingerbread seasonal lattes as well as Caramel Blondie chillers fairly regularly now. I've been in a couple times and used the drive thru on all other occasions. That being said, the coffee here is great. I'd say it's comparable to the Starbucks equivalents (give or take on some items). Compared to Dutch Bros, the coffee is a bit stronger, which is a bonus if you feel DB drinks are all sweet with no coffee flavor. I still prefer to add an extra shot. My partner has also enjoyed a variety of the energy drinks (not a single disappointing flavor), and he has said the caffeine content is satisfying without being overwhelming. It is about half or even less than half the caffeine content of a Monster energy drink. In addition, the aesthetic of the inside is modern and clean. The staff is friendly and patient. The atmosphere is calm but focused without as much of the typical busy-cafe chaos. My one complaint is that I once ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese Danish, and it was so overcooked it...

We normally have an incredible visit as I stop here almost every single day for a coffee. The girl who did the drive thru orders this morning 10/8 and she worked the drive thru speaker the other morning as well was quite rude. She was rude both times I have went through. These are the only 2 times I have seen her (she’s blonde) but you can just tell she’s in a cranky mood. Every other person has been exceptional, kind, professional, personable. We will continue to go because the overall experience is great! I just think maybe this one girl shouldn’t be the one taking orders, maybe cleaning or making the coffee would better suit her, she just seemed annoyed and frustrated both visits. I was going to leave a review after the first visit with her taking my order but I gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was just having a bad day, but for this to be the 2nd time she spoke so rudely and annoyed over the speaker, I am leaving a review.
