We went to Cilantros on a Friday for an early dinner around 5pm. It was pretty crowded. The parking lot is small. We waited a bit before anyone acknowledged us, but once they did, we were quickly seated. We were set at a table directly next to the outside seating. We had never been here before, so I was unaware that this would be an issue. It was a tight space for the staff to go in and out, making it awkward, especially when they were carrying a large food tray. Drink order was taken quickly, and drinks were brought to the table just as quickly. Our waiter came to take food orders, and he seemed rushed, angry, and slightly aggressive. It was uncomfortable. The place was very busy, and it seemed understaffed, so I understand, but you can't make your guest feel uncomfortable. Food was delivered to the table, piping hot and fresh. It was really good. However, my husband didn't get what he ordered. We tried to get the waiter's attention, but no luck, so he just ate what he was given. He ordered the Carne Asada Jalisco, and we guess he received a fajita combo platter because it was beef and chicken fajitas. We sat for about 15 minutes after we finished eating, just waiting for any staff so we could ask for the check. My husband finally got up and found the waiter. When the waiter finally came to the table and we explained the food situation so we were charged correctly he argued that my husband ordered the asada half and half beef and chicken? That's not even a thing. It was just a couple of dollars, and frankly, it was not worth arguing, so I just paid the check so we could go. Overall, it wasn't a great experience. The food was really good though so we will give them another try. I'll update my...
Read moreI recently had a very unpleasant dining experience at Cilantro’s Mexican Grill that I feel compelled to share. My family and I are new to the area and were looking forward to trying out a local restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of our waiter, a short, baldheaded, husky male, who exhibited a noticeably nasty attitude towards us from the moment we were seated.
His negative demeanor was starkly apparent and contrasted sharply with the way he interacted with another family seated nearby, who were of a different race. While he was quite positive and accommodating towards them, he was anything but helpful with us. He spoke very little, and when he did, it seemed like he either did not know English well or simply chose not to engage with us. However, this was clearly not a language barrier issue, as the other family he attended to also communicated with him in English.
His poor attitude was not just a matter of misunderstanding; it was evident that his behavior was deliberate. Despite our attempts to communicate politely and ask for assistance, he remained unhelpful and rude throughout our meal. It was disheartening to see such a difference in treatment based solely on our race.
As newcomers to the area, we were particularly disappointed by this experience. We had hoped to find a welcoming and enjoyable dining spot, but this was not the case at Cilantro’s Mexican Grill. Customer service should be consistent and respectful to all patrons, regardless of their background. I hope Cilantros Mexican Grill addresses this issue promptly to ensure that future diners do not have to endure the same...
Read moreOk, well this visit was far from anything that is experienced at the Spring location, Rayford-Sawdust road.. My family and I love our service there... But this location on 1097 in Willis, Tex ... leaves a lot to be desired. Friday Night 3rd of Sept .. My family and I 5 adults and 1 infant / toddler... arrived around 645 pm. The hostess made us wait outside.. Ok, place is not overly busy.. but cramped a bit.. there were tables outside... I asked if we could order beverages, the answer was straight up NO! She proceeded to inform us it would be 30mins before we could be seated with 6pp.. even though 1 was for a high chair...
After about 30 mins or so the hostess offered a table for 4.. and to separate the party of 5. We declined and continued to wait.. Thinking that the restaurant was going to seat us, right? WRONG!!
After 45mins of waiting we walked away as they ( restaurant) failed to mention they would not be able To seat a party of 5 - because they would not put 2 tables together... as there was a strict 2person per table rule...
We walked out and went to another “ Mexican “ restaurant on 75 that is / much better service and was PACKED!!!
Do not visit the location in Willis,TX They do not want your business, and from reading other reviews.. They’ve had similar issues...
