I really loved this place. It has been a couple years since I first decided I wanted to try, when it was The Morehouse that is since Nora's is a relatively new inception, but it was definitely worth the wait. In general I avoid Downtown Willoughby because it is not friendly for those with mobility issues as was the case today, but one cannot fault the businesses per se. There needs to be accessible parking for those with different needs. That said.... The food was great and the server, Briana, was superb! Briana was attentive without being cloying. She came at the perfect time, not an easy task, and was very happy to answer questions in a knowledgeable manner. People like her help me regain faith in the human race and the decency with which we can all treat one another. Thank you! I ordered the fish and chips with Tots. The cajun gorgonzola slaw was out of this world. Not what anyone would expect for slaw, but that is why I tried it. It lacks the sweetness we are often used to but has a delectable and strong gorgonzola presence. The "cajun" I am not sure of unless it is just the cultural part. There were no "cajun" spices I could detect, but for that I was happy. The fish was perfectly battered and fried crisp as it should be for a British meal. Light tasting whitefish with a batter that was complimentary rather than overbearing. The tartar sauce was a perfect compliment. The TOTS!!! Wow! They are the size of a Tennis ball, perhaps a slight exaggeration but not much, and have a flavor that is part latke, part hashbrown, part tater tot, and ALL good. The Tots come with Bistro sauce that was described as a kind of cajun ranch (that may not be the correct way Briana described it) which is a turn off as I dislike ranch. That was in my head as I tried it so, it wasn't that great. On second (and 3rd and 4th...) taste, it started to grown on me. It had a mild salsa undertone without the buttermilk flavor of ranch. I brought it home. Mom got a side of Smoked Gouda mac n cheese. It was quite a bit for $5 and she thought it was great. Very creamy and cheesy. I do not like smoked gouda so will keep my thoughts to myself. For $20, this was a worthy meal and I am looking forward to going back to try other thing on the menu. Hopefully the brunch that Briana was so helpful in explaining to us! Kudos! (But I wish I would have gotten there to try the shrimp and grits and...

5 star food, 0 star service. I was excited to try this place because I heard they had really good fish and chips and they do, but for me no amount of good food makes up for bad service. We sad in the back by the bar area. The bartender clearly did not want to serve us. She started off by saying that it's going to rain and where we sure we wanted to sit back there? So then we are halfway through our meal and actually does start raining and we have to move ourselves to another table. They were tapos under an awning. She could have suggested we moved to or move us to but she didn't. Mostly she just ignored us. So we move ourselves. Never any. How are you doing, how are you enjoying it, is it okay? Also she forgot to bring my aunt's drink and very passive aggressively said oh my brain is mush at the end of my shift. Well baby go get somebody who can do their job all the way through their shift! When the night shift came in they were guys and immediately there was a noticeable change in service. Very friendly and attentive, and I wish I could have given my tip to them, even though they showed up right before we left to because unlike their coworker they seem to actually be interested in giving good service.
Like I said the food is delicious but the attitude sucked. Not sure if it was because I'm Black, but I am sure I'm too...
Read moreWe had a very weird experience here. Came on Sunday before Browns game started.
First no one is greeting or seating, no hostess, so we had no idea if we should just take a table or what.
Once we sat down we weren't sure if a waitress would notice us, finally one did.
But the reason we are writing this review is because the service was pretty atrocious. It was hard to get ahold of our waitress, when she came by she ran away before asking if anything else was needed.
BUT THE WORST PART, she took all the orders by memory and forgot to put in the order for one person at our table, which essentially ruins the entire meal for everyone when all the food comes out hot and one person doesn't have food.
She took no accountability for forgetting her order, she made some excuse that the orders got split up but obviously the oder was just never put in cause we had to wait a while for it to ever come out. It finally comes out, everyone else is done with their food by then and shes not even hungry any more. And we thought, at MINIMUM she would've taken that item off the check, she did not, she left it on, at full price, after ruining our entire experience.
Accidents happen, but at least take some accountability and...
