Ordered online at 8:30. The hours posted online and in the window of the restaurant state they are open to serve customers until 9:00pm. I had a small, simple togo order. 2 sides of Blue Ribbon Bacon (ahhmazing!). I arrived at 8:41 to pick up my food. Following the curbside pick-up procedure, I called the restaurant. The phone rang from 8:41 to 8:47. I walked up to enter the restaurant to retrieve my paid for food, but the doors were locked. So I called again. The phone rang until 8:52p. No answer. I knocked on the door, but it was the outside door of a set of double doors, so my knock was unanswered. I could see 2 employees inside at the counter, so I called again, but there was no answer again. As the phone was ringing, I knocked on the window next to the door waving my phone. A male employee then came and let me in and said they were closed. I explained I had ordered and paid online and had been trying to call, that the listed hours were open until 9pm. He said, "Online ordering stops at 8:30, and the carryout girl left." I said that I had ordered and paid without any issue, and it said the order was complete. How do you get to decide to just stop working at 830 and lock the doors up if you are continuing to take orders and payments? The money was taken from my account and everything already. He was not friendly, actually pretty rude and seemingly angry. He said while walking away to the kitchen, "Yes we do, and if you ever worked in the restaurant industry, you would get it." After a minute or so, I could hear the order print to the kitchen, so they must have shut off their ordering system along with locking the doors to the restaurant. I was then informed by Mr. Personality, who let me in that the cook said she would make it. I said that I could just take a refund for the order if they would rather. Still mad he said "I can't do that." Ultimately, I got my order and was literally out the door before 9pm. It was just astounding to me how angry the guy was right away. No, how can I help you or sorry about that. No, it's been a dead night or we don't have the help, no apology at all. And to have that bad of an attitude towards me as if I was in the wrong for ordering something uncomplicated 30 minutes before they close but still taking the order and my money. The guy with the braded beard and really bad attitude is not good for business Bob Evans. If the locked doors and unanswered phones weren't enough for customers to decide. Ps: I have worked in the restaurant industry and would never turn business away before close. Let alone take money with locked doors...
Read moreThis place used to be good... Not any more. 3 times I said something about our food and they never got it right, brought my toast when they brought the check at the end of the meal. Got 1 refill on my coffee but they never brought me more creamer. I asked for extra napkins before we even ordered and for 3 people they brought us 2. I ordered limp bacon asked if they could please not burn it I can't eat crispy bacon, it was so burnt it was black. She took it off my plate with her hands and tossed it on her tray and said "I'm just going to throw it away" ok but don't touch the rest of my food with your hands when I just saw you handling money. They don't know how to make over easy eggs, hey guys the yolk should be runny! The replacement bacon was a burnt ball? Seriously? If you're in town and want a sit down breakfast I would suggest Frishes, they have been improving lately. They weren't busy, I'm assuming they just had a rush to because lots of tables were dirty but empty. They took our name when we first got there but then someone else started seating others when they walked in so I said something. I have worked in restaurants I see how this could have happened but instead of just apologizing and seating us he told me he just clocked on and we would have to wait and still sat the other group!?!? They even said we were there first. This makes the third time in a row this Bob Evans has sucked so I think I'm done trying for a bit. I contacted the main number last time and they sent me a $5 gift card for my issues lol to bad the $50+ order was completely wrong that time and never got fixed lol. If I go back and it improves I will change my review but for now I would strongly suggest going...

Bob Evans in general is a pretty decent place to eat. Most prices are reasonable, and the food is at least good - great if the staff in the store you're visiting is on top of their game.
This particular location, as sad to say as it is, just isn't good anymore. It used to be one of the best breakfast places in Wilmington and surrounding areas, but now it's just a dumpster fire.
Pros: Wait staff was usually always friendly, as was the host/hostess -Restrooms could've been cleaner, but weren't terrible -Parking lot wasn't littered with debris, and lawn was neatly trimmed
Cons: -Took FOREVER to get our food. A little over an hour after we ordered it. The poor girl serving us seemed pretty exhasperated, and apologized, but there was little she could do about it. -Once the food arrived, it was a little better than lukewarm. -Chicken tenders and fries my kids ordered tasted like the fryer was due to be changed 2 days ago. -Didnt appear to be alot of teamwork going on to address the long wait for food, and the long line at the door. Most likely part of the reason our waitress seemed exhasperated. -Managers were scarcely seen during our visit. The few times they were visible, they were dealing with multiple complaints. Maybe they were working in the back, trying to "right the ship" but didn't have much of a presence in the dining room.
Like I said, this Bob Evans used to be great....
