Good food, good service, amazing chicken. I've always been a fan of Bojangles and I still am... However after trying church's chicken and their sides and everything oh my god they're biscuits have honey on top of them literally there's these little balls of dough we call biscuits but someone went above and beyond and painted them with nature's nectar and now they're borderline a piece of cake but we're still calling them biscuits. Anyways their chicken it's super good now I prefer their spicy. After eating Bojangles for my whole life when I tried the spicy version of their fried chicken churches spicy chicken it is spicy, like not subtle not a small hint or pepper flavored seasonings on it or whatever I mean it's like it's got it's got a little kick to it and it is super good. You know Bojangles I keep bringing them up let's just put them in the Cajun category, Church's Chicken is Texas big difference dude I mean like noticeable substantial difference that draws a fine very defined line between Cajun style chicken and Texas style chicken. You want Cajun chicken go to Bojangles you want Texas chicken with a kick you go to Church's Chicken. KFC I don't know what that's supposed to be for but they fell off a long time ago. Once they got rid of the kernel himself it was never the same. Little known fact about the history of fried chicken restaurant chains... When it comes to KFC they were actually bought from Colonel Sanders and taking over by a large corporation. After Colonel Sanders sold the company to the corporation he opened up his own new chain of fried chicken restaurants I think he did it in his wife's name though, which actually led to some litigation with the courts because it was too close to Kentucky fried Chicken in terms of the branding and the appearance of the business they go on later to say that they sued Colonel Sanders they being KFC sued Colonel Sanders and made him change the new restaurant he started change the business name or the branding when asked about his thoughts of KFC after the buyout he grumbled something along the lines of its chicken covered in an ungodly amount of bread. He said the gravy was sludge or something I don't know he was basically disgusted in KFC as I am. only thing they got going for them and I mean the only thing they got is their macaroni and cheese and it's not even that big of a deal but it's edible. What I subject my palate to KFC just to enjoy some mac and cheese probably not to be honest with you. Last couple times I went there was a s* show just trying to get my food let alone actually get the order I asked for they didn't even have biscuits and it was 6:30 in the afternoon like they just ran out and didn't want to make more. Anyways back to church's chicken the sides are really good coleslaws sweet crispy crunchy all that good stuff the mashed potatoes and gravy is good it's just instant potatoes like everywhere else it's instant potatoes with gravy on top of them. The one thing I don't like about the mashed potatoes and gravy is when they serve you the to-go container of it they fill it up with mash and pour some gravy on top of it and then put a lid on it What I prefer and I think a lot of people would prefer is a container of mashed potatoes and then a separate container of gravy this would be better and is more desirable that way you can control the gravy to mashed potato ratio. Now I don't think there's anything left for me to cover Go to Church's Chicken it's really good Best of luck on your chicken adventures. PS I tried the original style fried chicken as well just as good just as juicy just a little lacking on flavor get the spicy you won't regret it unless you are weak in terms of...
Read moreI will never take my family or recommend others to visit this most unprofessional business I can ever recall encountering. Before we placed our orders the word organization is definitely not important. Unsure if these men who were all over the place...either training(???), working drive thru, at the front register, or buttering biscuits was their duties today. I do know that hollering in the business as your means to communicate with another employee wasn't part of it...I have worked in fast food many many years ago and I know very well employees are not trained to conduct themselves this way. My order somehow got messed up and the lady obviously knew what she done wrong but had to use the rest room.We already had been.waiting for a long time and she brought 1 of the items we ordered but knew 2 other items had to be brought to us also. Not sure if homegirl had some personal problems but she was in the restroom for more than 5 or 10 mins. So I walked to the register to ask about my missing order and it had to be the unprofessional biscuit butterer.... all loud and rude. He asked the employee behind him a simple question and he hunched his shoulders saying he didn't know. I excused myself from the register because I really started to get furious because of ignorance and stupidity this staff was displaying. It goes on with the nonsense but it was more than enough stupidity, unsanitary actions, terrible customer service, and time as well as money thrown away walking in this place. The doors should be permanently locked to this place. I will make sure I let the health department and others who spend money like I do to never stop on Market Street at...
Read moreOk so I'm from Vermont and we don't have Church's Chicken. We had 4 KFC's in the Burlington area but slowly they disappeared over the years and we're left with one horribly ran and disgusting KFC. If you want mediocre fried chicken you have to go to the local supermarket and hope it hasn't been drying out for 8 hours under the heat lights from when they made it before lunch. So needless to say Church's Chicken is a nice treat when I come to Wilmington NC to visit my parents. It's always consistent and crispy and pretty damn good for a drive thru. But!! Their Honey Butter Biscuits are probably one of the best damn things I've ever eaten in my whole life and let me tell you I am FAT and I love food and kind of picky. The honey soaks into the top of the biscuit and creates this crispy sugary crunch on the outer layer. The butter inside the biscuit complements it like peanut butter does to fluff. It's just soooo good!!! I think I'm gonna have my Mom overnight me some next time I bite into a KFC hockey puck after giving them Another chance to redeem themselves and it doesn't go well. My girlfriend and I plan on buying a bunch for the road trip home so she can watch me stuff my face while I drive and eat. I'm kicking myself for only getting 4 and having to give her 2 for dinner tonight. I should of got more. They...
