Complete and total catastrophic failure on all levels. A rubber screwdriver would function better than this place did as a restaurant. Do you feel like wasting $80 supporting a business that doesn't care about your experience? Go here.
First off, we were sat at a dirty table. Which the hostess knew because she just nonchalantly knocked around a few crums on the table trying to hide this fact. Which she failed at by wiping them in my lap. There were still plenty left on the table as well. We said something and she returned with two dry napkins and just moved them around a bit then left. She couldn't care less, she actually seemed annoyed we had an issue with it. How dare we ask her to do her job. She needs to get back to checking her social media at the hostess stand after all. The waitress had to wipe it down AGAIN!!!
The food was also horrible. What I have pictured cost me $50. Portions were small and not exactly delicious. The tuna was dry, steak was small and bitter, the coconut shimp tasted like boiled rubber and plastic. Then we had to send a steak back.
We spent $150 total. Very much not worth it. The restaurant culture, at least here, seems to not care and they don't have to. They know they can treat the majority of people however they want. Odds are folks would rather just pretend it was a good experience to save face in front of family, friends, and colleagues over making a scene. Because that would be being rude to one of the sacred saints of the service industry and you can't do that. Even if they completely failed at their job.
Tips used to be a reward now they are a guilt trip. Paying extra for this woefully dreadful evening was insult to injury. Even though the waitress wasn't the real issue, she actually was the only thing that wasn't the problem. The overall experience wasn't worth a single dime of my highly taxed earned income. Too bad she likely had to tip out the slack bus boy and wannabe tik tok star influencer hostess.
Its not unreasonable to judge this chain by this experience. I see no reason to return to any Outback Steakhouse...
Read moreIt's been a while since me and the family have gone to the Outback Steakhouse. A couple of not-so-great visits kept us away for over6-7 months. We decided to dine there last night and "what a pleasant surprise ! ! ! Our recent visit started as we looked for a parking spot. That's usually a good sign for good food and service. As we entered, the outside area was neat and clean. And, no one standing by the front door smoking(a personal peeve). We entered and we were greeted and seated immediately despite the full parking lot. They had plenty of seats still available. The restaurant looked like it had just been cleaned even though it was 6:15pm. Our waitress, Ashley, came over almost immediately. Her attention to our dining needs (and our 6 year old and 9 year grandsons) was met with "Great" suggestions and a sincere feeling that she wanted us to enjoy our dining experience. We really appreciated her. My wife and I ordered the bone-in rib eye steaks. Both were cooked perfectly as we requested. The seasoning was excellent and our meals were served "hot". My grandsons had steak and ribs. We were all very, very pleased with our meals as well as Ashley's service. Ashley really should be commended for her attention to detail as well as her cordial, helpful attitude. She is a credity to that restaurant. We will definitely ask for her on our next visit. P.S....Ashley suggested a new cocktail called the Blueberry, lavender Lemonade. Wow ! what a tasty drink. The alcohol content was weak but adding an extra shot made...
Read moreOver the years outback has been a favorite, I loved that. Alice Springs chicken but when I had it at lunch a few years ago it was disappointingly small. So I didn't go there over the pandemic or before. But a friend was really hungry for a steak. And forgetting that it was a Saturday, I said okay, let's stop there on our way home from shopping. The parking lot looked reasonably full so I was hopeful we would get a table. Not realizing was also right smack in the middle of dinner hour. Much to my dismay when I got up to the hostess suddenly they were going to be on a 30 minute wait. Frustration overwhelmed me. But we sat down to wait our turn. I was not happy with the young lady who suddenly had no room. The people behind us were given a beeper, we were not, the people behind us got seated before us, making me extremely hot. Hot. But I expressed it to a different hostess that we were in front of those people and she happily sat us right away. I decided to go for the Alice Springs chicken again and see what happened. My dinner was excellent. The chicken was juicy and plentiful, the baked potato was perfect and my salad was delicious. Delicious. My friend ordered an abundance of food to take home for the next few days. And she was pleased as well. The waiter was great. He was definitely intent on making my friend happy. Once I ate I was happy. I would just say go earlier if you're in a tourist town like we live in because it can be very crowded. It's obviously crowded for a reason. They do...
