We rented four rooms from July 4th - July - 7th for our big Indian American family to attend a wedding in Wilmington. Spent a little over 3k. Didn’t request any housekeeping services, only asked for towels. I have a lot of family members in the hotel business, and I know hospitality is all about making your guests feel at home. When I called front desk this Sat afternoon, and asked if, by chance, there was a charging block that accepted USB-C for my Apple watch, he automatically replied with, “Unfortunately not.”. Housekeeping usually finds chargers and keeps them in a box for the owners. I’ve stayed at many hotels, where they’ve pulled out a box and let me rummage through them. I just had to make sure of returning it in case the owners came back. I’ve been disappointed a few times, after front desk checked through a few drawers and couldn’t find what I needed. That’s okay, I was still incredibly grateful for the soul who was willing to help me. I’ve never had someone give me an, “Unfortunately not.”, without skipping a beat. We’re peaceful people that behave politely. I couldn’t help but sense an unwillingness to help from Brandon, enough to make me write this review. Is this some kind of hatred towards different, or unknown cultures? Was this someone that was just overworked, and didn’t want to check. Either way, it made a...
Read moreOctober 1, 2025 I stayed on the 5th floor. When I arrived to the room, nothing seemed out of the ordinary and I did basic checks under the sheets, lifted the mattress, assessed under furniture, etc and didn’t spot anything out of the ordinary. Went to bed feeling a bit less worried after a shower. However, the following morning at 7:15AM I had the strangest feeling that something was in the bed. As I lifted the sheets, I spotted a bug near my torso that was on the run. I managed to catch it between a couple of the sheets and squish it. To my surprise, blood scattered and saw it was a bed bug (See attached photos). I quickly gathered my belongings after taking a quick shower and headed to the front desk. I was provided a new room. The front desk worker called for the manager to the front. I showed the manager the attached photos and not a single apology. All I was asked was “What room was this?…Are all your personal belongings out of the room?” To which he then walked away once I responded. Now I have to worry if any of my belongings carry one of those bugs. Definitely disappointed with Hampton this time around. If you’re looking to stay around the Wilmington NC area, I do not recommend the Hampton by Hilton (124 Old...
Read moreThe only reason I gave this place 3 instead of 4 stars is that one morning I woke up and turned on the lights and I saw a large bug run for cover. I squashed him but it was kind of sickening. I went down to the lobby and asked room service to come up and vacuum to get rid of it, which they did and the lady at the desk apologized. But that was it. I'm from up north so maybe large bugs in Hotel rooms are normal down south but I still think its unacceptable. We were on the second floor, so I can't imagine what would sneak in on the first floor rooms! The bed was very comfortable however and the bathroom was a good size. Although, the toilet would not flush properly. You had to hold down the handle to make it flush. There is a free breakfast, like all Hampton Inns. It isn't great. But it's free. The location was really excellent. Only 8 minutes to the beach with no traffic. Which there was hardly any traffic when we went on a Thursday. The girl at night who checked us in the first night and who was in the next night as well was very nice and helpful. So there were good and bad aspects...
