As a visiting foodie, this place was wonderful. The area with all the shipping containers was cute and fun to walk through all the shops. Salita included. We went for dinner on Friday and came back for breakfast on Sunday.
The pizza is delicious wood fired and delicious perfectly charred. The flavor is insane. We had the mushroom, burrata, and bomba. No complaints about any of them. They all were uniquely flavorful and delicious. Not a piece was left. I’m not one to rave about a salad, but the burrata and kale salad was delightful. All the flavors matched together perfectly, I even asked if I could buy the dressing by the bottle.
Breakfast was no different, I had a parmesan bagel with bacon, egg & cheese. The bagel was amazing!! Perfectly cooked with a crunchy top.
Overall, you can truly tell that all of their ingredients are fresh and all the flavors were thought out into making all these delicious options.
It may seem expensive, but they are the first place on this trip that did NOT ask for a tip, which makes me think the employees are cared for and that was also a...
Read moreForget Italy, Salita in the artistic cargo district serves up slices that could outshine the Tuscan sun! Each bite is a flavor explosion that'll make your taste buds light up like the 4th of July.
Each part of the pie played a crucial part of the flavor symphony:
The crust? Crispy perfection with a hint of chewiness that's like a culinary ballet on your palate. The toppings range from classic to peach and prosciutto? And the cheese? It flows like a molten river of parm and mozzarella that dreams are made of.
The ambiance? Picture this: cozy tables nestled among cargo containers turned art studios, with a vibe that's both hipster-cool and authentically Italian.
The staff? They're like pizza whisperers, guiding you through a menu that reads like a love letter to Naples.
So, if you're craving a slice of heaven in Wilmington, head straight to Salita. Your taste buds will thank you, and you might just start planning your next pizza pilgrimage before you've finished your last slice....
Read moreWe love the grumpy Salita staff. We drive up from Myrtle Beach every weekend to grab morning buns (they're more magical than you can imagine- think a sourdough muffin garlic knit sausage roll mix) , a loaf of bread (gimme a break- we make our own bread and have stopped since trying theirs), sweets (ice cream and mufffins- the olive oil gooooodness), and of course pizza. The lemon pizza is the love of my life (obviously second to my wife- cough-) only second to the season peach pizza. But there's no reason to not give these wonderful grumpy napkin haters any less than 10 stars- they're organic, freshly filled flour, locally sourced ingredients, sourdough that is actually 100/10, and olive oil city. It brings tears to my eyes that I can take my wife to a place that wont hurt her stomach or make her sick. (Places like these are VERY hard to come by. ) and if thats not enough, the flavor combinations and executions are sublime.. immaculate...perfect...I dream about them. That's all-...
