Uncle John's Ice Creamery — Restaurant in Wilmington

Uncle John's is incredible! Went with friends last week and everything about our experience was fantastic. Brought a different friend for another visit tonight and again, it was just remarkable.

First off, each flavor we tried was unreal. The love and craft that go into each batch is evident. Upon our initial visit, their team was so patient & generous with our requests for samples. The flavor list was full of winners. So hard to decide.

The woman who took our order was super kind and we waxed nostalgic about black raspberry. Also, get out of town with how good the banana pudding is -- if that's at all up your alley, you best get on it immediately.

Now the owner, Uncle John...he is wonderful. He engages with every guest, meeting them with gratitude and the kindest smile. We were lucky to sit and talk with him both visits, and I'm already looking forward to the next time. What a lovely human -- hospitable, honest, humble, and so very passionate about all he's created. Doesn't get any better than that.

A Must-Visit for Ice Cream Lovers! Uncle John's is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn't your average ice cream shop -- it's a full-on experience. The ice cream is all homemade using high-quality ingredients, and you can truly taste the difference in every bite. Uncle John’s is hands-down one of the best local ice cream spots around. The ice cream itself is creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor, and with a rotating selection of creative flavors, there’s always something new and exciting to try. It’s not just the dairy options that shine- their dairy-free offerings are seriously impressive and far more plentiful (and delicious) than what you’ll find at places like Richardson’s. My favorite dairy-free flavor is Mint Oreo.

The shop has a bright, clean, and welcoming atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to visit. The service is consistently fantastic, and the owner is a genuinely personable guy who clearly takes pride in the recipe he’s created. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality. They even offer ice cream flights, which is something I haven’t seen anywhere else.
