This building has been many restaurants over the years, it is one of the oldest in Winchester and my mother used to work here in the 1970's when it was the Donut Diner. I've noticed in passing lately that it was reopened as Food Bash so I decided to look up the reviews on it and they were 99% positive so wife and I stopped in yesterday 6/11/23 for breakfast. The place is run by very nice Spanish couple and the place is small inside with only about 6 tables but is neat and clean and the food is hot and fresh, tasty and affordable. Wife got scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, home fries and toast with coffee,I got the country fried steak with gravy, home fries and 2 eggs over medium. They were also busy with take out but we still got our order quickly. Everything we got was excellent and we cleaned our plates. The only thing I would recommend to the owners is to add toast to the country fried steak meal because anywhere you order this meal it usually comes with toast because you have eggs and gravy that needs sopping up, other than that all I can say is it's only a matter of time before they will have more business than they can handle, as long as they keep it fresh, hot, clean, friendly and affordable. We will be back to try more of their offerings and you...
Read moreWaiting for my car to be finished and was in the neighborhood. Stopped in and the person behind the counter (very good service) recommended their steak and cheese sub. Told me it was very large. So I ordered that and it came with some sort of seasoned fries (Similar to Arbys curly fries in taste). Also came with a iced tea. Total $12. I have eaten many, many steak and cheese subs through the years and this one did not even rank in the top 50. And if this was large I would hate to see small. My wife took a bite and stated we could have gotten better sub at almost any gas station. It tasted like steak-ums which had been frozen too long, not very good meat at all and they wanted to put ranch dressing on it. Ranch dressing on a steak and cheese sub is not normal way of making. Anyway customer service was great but took them over 10 minutes to make my order and it wasn't even busy. With that being said, I will not return. Much better subs...
Read moreBreakfast was basic and edible; no fault with the bacon, eggs, and toast. Senior staff was kind and welcoming. Our waitress, however, did not meet expectations. Half of my coffee was spilled (my husband bumped it), and it took her a bit to help us clean it up. We didn’t have silverware at that point, so no napkins to help ourselves. She never refilled my coffee. When we were finished eating she finally asked if I would like more coffee. When I said yes, she said it would be a few minutes because she would have to make another pot. This is Sunday breakfast service and there isn’t constantly a pot of coffee brewing? I don’t really recommend this neighborhood spot, and it’s painful for me to even write that. I love neighborhood joints. This one needs to up the quality of service and then they might be...
