Mood- Enchanted Garden
I saw pictures of this place online and knew I wanted to go. Well I invited a close friend of mine a couple of weeks ago and we have been playing tag about schedules and timelines. So I didnt want to entertain this place without her going too. I actually waited until it was time. Get antsy of course.
Upon entering was quickly greeted and ushered to a booth. Now I will admit the two of us were looking at everything in awe. As from the outside it is like " The Wizard of Oz" in black and white, until you walk through the front door into this enchanted indoor/outdoor secret garden from top to bottom.
Menus were given and we were asked re; drink order. We both opted for the Horchata of course as it is made in house. You could def tell the difference. Our server was very sweet and understanding. As we def took a long time to decide what we wanted after convo and eye gazing over the interior.
We opted for Guacamole in addition to the complimentary chips and salsa, Shrimp Taco Entree, and Molcajete. Can I say we were both very pleased with our selections. Everything was made from scratch and it was obvious from the taste.
Interior is several booths along with a large table in the foyer. Everything was very clean. Music was playing in the background. The decor reminds me of something that would be perfect for an outdoor tea party that is hidden in a true secret garden of sorts. One of the employees turned the lights on for that extra whimsy look and everyone was just blown away. I am honestly not doing this justice. You will have to entertain this for yourself to truly understand.
Would most def recommend - Pricing is reasonable for the portions. Staff were very hospitable and courteous. My table was checked on continually. Partly due to us checking out the decor and not making up our mind. LOL -but they completely understood. We were never once made to feel rushed at all. It was nice to truly take our time and enjoy great convo in such a stunning environment. I...
Read moreAfter seeing TikTok videos and reading reviews my family and I decided to try this place out on vacation. Going inside of this it was very colorful and seem like a very pleasant feeling and vibe from this place. We got a waiter that seemed to have an attitude problem. With me this rubbs me the wrong way! Personally after owning a restaurant myself in the past, I do not like to have male waiters gay or straight. The guy was very rude and I asked 3 time for water. I also ordered a Dr. Pepper and they gave to me in a can which is ok but I was not given a glass with ice and that's what I'm used to back in the southern states. So I ordered the molcajete which I have ordered in past but not out west. So first thing I bit into was a shrimp and it was warm outside and cold on the inside. That was the icing for everything that this place has to offer. The food was luke warm at best and not hot in any way shape or form. The best thing that came on this "Dish" was the fresh corn tortillas, the rábanos, and the jalapeño from the grill. I've had better "Mexican" food in Oklahoma then any state out west which is really bad. My wife had gotten the mixed fajitas and a quarter of the plate was meat and the rest was onions and bell peppers. As a past restaurant owner this place needs major upgrades starting with the waiting staff and then next the kitchen. I've eaten Mexican fast food out here and it tasted way better then any actual restaurant out her in Vegas. Don't need any apologies from this place in any way. Do the right thing and fix your issues. I've also noticed place and people can't take any criticism or...
Read moreAtmosphere was awesome. We really loved it. Customer service was also top notch, very friendly and attentive and fun. The food was on the other hand was pretty much the complete opposite.
To preface this, my wife lived in Mexico for many years and I’ve also had lots of food when we go to visit Mexico. I love the people, the culture and the amazing flavors that come with good Mexican food, unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to that food/flavor wise.
The first thing I noticed was the processed bouillon flavor in the rice. It’s controversial, but I’d say Roberto’s has better flavor rice and beans, which is crazy for me to say, but yet flavor wise it’s absolutely the truth.
I ordered their popular carne asada tacos which used a type of beef that neither me or my wife knew. It was very dry and again the flavor was super lacking and had a weird after taste to it.
My wife had mole de pollo and she said they used chicken breast instead of the dark meat which is the more traditional way. The chicken was dry and she said the mole sauce was heavily under seasoned.
All in all, I just can’t recommend this place as a restaurant. We were very excited to go here and try the food and unfortunately, the visuals and customer service were the only thing we’ll remember from here. I really hope they find a way to get better because the potential of this place is fantastic, but sadly, I can’t see us ever returning...
