Eagle Sushi & Steak House — Restaurant in Windham

I want to start with saying that I have had more than my fair share of sushi in my lifetime. One of my friend’s parents immigrated from Japan and own a sushi restaurant in my hometown. I’ve come to learn that finding decent sushi in Maine is hit or miss. I’m not a fried sushi fan. I almost always order raw sushi and sashimi and a Boston roll.

This was my first and last experience at Eagle. I ordered takeout online. When I arrived, the staff was kind and quick to give me my order. The presentation was good for takeout and packaged well. I started with the sushi combo eating all the sushi first. I moved onto the eel sushi and the Boston roll (that didn’t have mayo even though I requested it). All of it was meh. When I put the first bite of the tuna roll in my mouth, I knew the tuna was bad. It had a strong metal taste. I immediately spit it out. I haven’t thrown up in 20 years. Well, I just had to start that time clock over because I RAN to the bathroom and threw up everything that I ate.

I’m sure I will get a nasty message from the owners like everyone here that didn’t leave a glowing review. Out of 29 reviews that I’ve left on Google, I’ve only ever left 2 reviews that weren’t 5 stars. I’m not someone who complains about businesses but getting food poisoning is something that I just can’t dismiss. I literally just flushed $50...

Windham how lucky are we all to have this amazing gem of a restaurant! I am humbly guilty of passing by this establishment numerous times, honestly I was sometimes unsure if it was open. My family and I moved from Scarborough and over the last year have been on the search for great sushi and ramen close by. By complete accident we came across Eagle Sushi and placed an order online. I was absolutely astounded by the quality of the food, we ordered sushi, ramen, rice and a couple appetizers, every single item was meticulously prepared. We have ordered take out numerous times since and recently went and dined in. If we thought the take out was exceptional....we were treated to exceptional service, presentation and again glorious food! It simply astounds me that this restaurant is not packed every day it is open. As a consumer I have basic requirements good honest food and a business that treats you like you actually matter to them. I have never once left feeling un appreciated, I actually feel better about the world! Windham and anyone traveling through don't pass this one by it is worth a stop and many more thereafter! To start, I love this place, have been going for over a year, and totally plan to go a whole lot more. My only complaint is that sometimes, or in my case, all but one visit, they sit all customers in small booths by the window. I understand keeping customers together, and if this is just how it works, no troubles. Yet, it's difficult to sit on those booths; you're close to others, and the cement wall does cause a loud echo. This caused a terrible issue during my last visit. Another group/ customer sitting on the opposite side of the room was having a very inappropriate conversation, and because of the seating arrangement, no one was in the tables and chairs in the wide open room on the other side, everyone could hear everything being said. If every other table is quiet because of this inappropriate conversation, I don't know just doesn't sit well with me. Again, please go here it's wonderful. The food is always perfect, the staff are lovely, and this is the ONLY incident I've ever had here, and honestly, it wasn't even that bad. I love this place, and do plan...
