Oriental Cafe Willimantic — Restaurant in Windham

So extremely hit or miss - sometimes good but often bad. Both the yaki udon and low mein were extremely oily and flavorless. It did not taste like there was any soy sauce, oyster or hoisin or any kind of asian flavor whatsoever.

The yaki udon had random giant peppers that looked like someone cut them with scissors and the overall flavor was oily, more like greasy americann mexican food than any kind of asian cuisine.

The pad thai was good only once, the other time it came dry without sauce and scarcely proportioned vegetables, again almost no flavor

The wonton soup is usually good, but will occasionally be bright yellow and too acidic to eat. Overall disappointing

All recipes taste different depending on what day you order

Sushi is passable and pretty tasty

Fried food (rangoons and spring rolls) taste microwaved and lack savory or umami flavor

I ordered delivery from this restaurant and there were some very apparent food quality issues. I’ve eaten here before in person several years ago and had no issues then, but when I was eating the fried rice that I ordered a little over an hour ago, I noticed that there was a dead bug in my food. I was kind of turned off from eating any more at that point, but I poked around the rest of the rice and there was a large green spot on one of the fried egg bits. I have never left a negative review for a restaurant before, but I figure that this is valid because my stomach isn’t feeling so great at the moment and I don’t want anyone else to go...

Love Oriental Café! The atmosphere is calming and comfortable. Great Sushi & Sashimi choices.. Every meal is fresh and made to order. Try the Chicken Soup w/ Coconut (Tom Kha Gai). Also try the Chicken Yaki Udon.

The bar is also a nice place to sit and enjoy a cocktail! My experience has been that take out on average is 15 minutes to pick up!

Just a few suggestions, it appears your business has grown an become more popular. Please add more waite staff for quicker service. Also- The sign outside is not lit and therefore not visible to current patrons or potential new ones! If we can't see your business.. you...
