Don't go here if you don't have all the time in the world to wait for them to be in the mood to pack up your order. I called my order in well in advance of when I needed it, and when they said 25 minutes, I gave them 35. When I showed up to the restaurant, I was told that my order was ready, but that they weren't packing it up right now, so I should wait for about 5 minutes. The woman who said this to me, then proceeded to help out 5 white males who didn't seem to be in any kind of hurry. I waited 5 minutes, and then took my place in the small line at the hostess counter. When I got to the front of that line she told me that "they weren't packing things up right now" and I should "chill" a little longer. I told her that I did not have time, and that if my order was ready, I needed them to pack it up right away. She went over to the bar and began (presumably) packing up my order. Then she disappeared into the back, and sent over a waitress who almost gave me someone else's order. When I was finally able to convince her that it wasn't my order, she asked me to wait for 5 minutes. I told her that I couldn't, that I'd already been told my order was ready, and that it needed to be packaged up. Another 5 minutes later, I finally got my food. At this point, I don't care how it tastes. I am never going back to this restaurant again. They're lackadaisical approach to customer service, and they're obvious sexism, is a major turn off. P.S. After all this, the food is generic, and they didn't include any Ginger or wasabi with my nigiri sushi. What's the point of sushi without Ginger and...
Read moreI’m new around Sonoma county and I reside in Cloverdale. I stumbled upon this place a few months ago when my daughter was craving sushi and we happened to be heading out of town so we stopped by here on our way out and I was flabbergasted by the establishment and the super servers who are very exceptional, alert and kind! I don’t think I’ve ever had better service anywhere. One in particular Alyssa seems to be there every time we happen to visit which isn’t often but I do travel out of my way to go here now when my daughter and I are craving Asian food. I can tell she really enjoys her job! Excellent performance. There was another as well but unfortunately I didn’t catch her name and she wasn’t even our server at the time but overheard us discussing an extra roll we wanted and she peeked her head out from the kitchen area and let us know she heard that and she’s got it coming which was just incredible awareness to be paying attention to the tables! The food presentation and amount is very generous which is incredible and very satisfying! Also the atmosphere and lighting is phenomenal. My only personal opinion is I wish they played less mainstream pop music and more Japanese-esque instrumental music haha but that’s not even really important. I’m very much appreciative of this...
Read moreI really want to give Qimara a higher review but not after the food and service I received yesterday... The menu description for the 49er’s role reads “snow crab”, but the crab they used was imitation crab. When I asked the waitress she said they call imitation crab “snow crab” at Qimara. I informed her that snow crab IS REAL CRAB, and that the menu description is 💯 false advertising. She said that if I wanted to order real crab, which the menu reads, I would have to pay $5 more! That seemed ridiculous, but I agreed. There real snow crab role arrived and it was half the size of the imitation role, wasn’t prepared the same way (instead of mixed with mayo and seasoned, it was just a few skinny crab legs thrown inside with a small amount of avocado)… Not very appetizing at all. They also recently had a menu-wide price increase and are serving smaller portions. The overall quality and taste of everything we ordered felt a lesser quality sushi than I have had there before, so this was also a factor in my...
