I’m just here to counter a 1 star review, written 4 months ago. I have been eating here for 4 years and have eaten here 100+ times. I’ve always had good food and it’s my favorite restaurant in the area. I take all of my friends and family here and they love it too. To those who are saying the owner is unfriendly, first of all, not true. He’s always been friendly with us and I’ve never once seen him be rude to a customer. Secondly, he’s incredibly busy because he does almost everything himself, so cut him some slack, please. I’d like to see anyone try to accomplish what he does at one time. (And still not be rude) I have noticed that portions have gotten smaller but they are still absolutely right for the price point. They are correctly sized for people who eat a healthy amount of food. If you need to eat enough food for two people, order two dishes. This will still likely be $20-$24 dollars per person, which is an average price lately at many restaurants. I ate here tonight and it was delicious. During the time I was there I experienced two incredibly rude and entitled customers and quite honestly am tired of seeing negative reviews for such an amazing place that has served me hundreds of delicious meals that were absolutely the right size for the price point. You won’t be sorry you try this place out! :) The spicy ramen and pad Thai are my...

First I would like to say, although the food looks great, I was unable to even place an order because I was sickened by the customer serviced I received from, who I am assuming is the owner (he would not disclose his name when I asked).

For our first time in this establishment, a friend and I was eventually greeted by this gentlemen who initially seemed friendly enough to answer our questions concerning the menu, but transitioned into a state of annoyance as we continued to ask questions. He also became condescending and sarcastic when we asked the different size options available.

When we had a question regarding if any vegetables were in the fried rice, he immediately dismissed us by saying “No, we don’t do that here. Go somewhere else.” And proceeded shooed us with his hands, to greet another customer there for a pickup order.

I will not say this is a horrible establishment and advise people not to go there, however, I will say that the customer service and attitude from this gentleman that I received was unwarranted. To continue to receive business and returning customers, it would be helpful to be kind to customers and potential customers. This should be a rule of thumb for...

My wife and I had been very excited to visit 18 Malaysia for months. (we loved the previous restaurant in the same location). We were waiting for our daughters to come into town. The atmosphere was very nice, relaxed and well themed. However, our much anticipated culinary experience ended there. The gentleman who waited on our table was unfriendly and borderline rude considering we were the only patrons in the entire restaurant. (the only table at 6:45pm). It probably should have been a sign to us but we had looked forward to eating here for months. So even after the less than welcoming service, we perused the menu and ordered. General consensus, order Pho, if you order anything. The waiter cleared our plates without ever asking if we enjoyed any of the other three entrees and brought a check all without saying a word. I'm left to only guess at desserts. In conclusion, only one out of four entrees was tolerable. Not a good ratio. It's doubtful we would go back given the service and food. The 2 stars are for their atmosphere and...

I think they had changed the menu since my last visit. This time is quite disappointing when we decided to try the take outs of a few dishes from the Malaysian signature menu. Spicy pork foot noodle soup - taste on sweeter side but overall that is the most satisfying dish along with Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce; the pork stomach - not many pork pieces because it was loaded with preserved mustard stem; fish fillet with soy sauce - if it is the price tag that cause us to have 7 small pieces, I am ok that the owner raised the price tag instead of saying this dish is very good. When I asked about it, the owner/chef said they were fish fillet, they were expensive…hmmm, yeah, you are talking with someone that always cooked fish fillet at home and also ordered fish fillet in chili sauce in Winston Salem Asian/Chinese restaurant that can be a few dollars pricier but loaded with fish and cabbage.

This is one of the few places to get noodle soup in Winston-Salem. It is the only Malaysian place that I know of in Winston-Salem. The curry noodle soup is flavorful. The portions are average size and the prices are a little higher than other noodle places. However this seating is comfortable and the service is good. The staff are very friendly. The Malaysian wontons are crispy, meaty and seasoned very well. I would recommend ordering the wontons if you come here.

Some of the best Asian food around. Whether you're in the market for pho, udon noodles, 🍚 rice, string beans, pad thai, curries, dumplings, or vegetables, their entire menu is cooked to perfection. My wife and I had take out here and you could not tell a difference from the plate to the to-go packaging. The staff are also helpful and polite. They do have ♿ handicap accessible seating, 🚻 restrooms, and parking.
