I checked out the reviews before I went. Great reviews, I had high hopes. Worst pedi/mani I had ever had. Let's start with the pedicure first. The man that did my pedicure was very rough. I had gel polish that needed to be removed. Whatever tool he used to remove it was very harsh on my toenails. It's been 10 hours and it hurts (tender) to touch my toes and walk. I didn't get any polish, just going natural....and I can see the pink spots on my toenails where he used the tool on them. He cut me a couple times while cleaning my cuticles. The pumis stone he used to exfoliate my feet left them in worse condition than when I had walked in. My feet are so rough on the bottom and sides, I can feel it catch on a blanket or scratch my leg if I touch my foot to it.
The manicure was a little better. But she was rough with my natural nail also, I didn't get polish either and she scraped my nails up with the file pretty good. Not to mention I asked for round shape. Which she didn't do. All in all, I would NOT recommend this place whatsoever. I paid them $60 to do this and I cannot believe the poor quality I received with Harmony Nails, when others have raved about them in the reviews. I chose them bc of price and great reviews. I even chose to drive 30 minutes to them, rather than going to a closer place. Little tip, if there are nothing but positive reviews and no negatives. You may want to think twice about it. Also, the price to this place definitely reflects on the quality.
UPDATE: 9/24/2023- It has been two months, and I am still dealing with the outcome of this pedicure. My toenails have been paper thin, that they break down to the skin. I have ridges all in my toenail bed now. It felt like he sanded my toenails down to barely anything. This experience really changed my mind about nail salons. I hope this review helps others, I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. I mean, two months later and still dealing with the issues?! Wow, just wow! I don't see my toenails being the same until the nails he sanded down grow completely out. From the looks of it, I may be...
Read moreIf you are not a regular, do not go here. I was a walk in and asked for "gel", but really I had a picture and asked for exactly that. I relied on their discretion. After my nails soaked I asked her if the design would look bad on shorter nails. She told me she planned on doing the design differently- I was respectful but said I had asked for the picture. She told me that would require tips, I said that was fine and was happy to wait. I waited for about an hour total, didn't say anything and planned on tipping extravagantly. I was being a good and patient customer. Cue the owner who came round to me, upset because he had allowed too many people to book, literally berating me telling me that I "KEEP Switching my mind" and all this. I politely told him I would have been happy to leave if they did not have the time, it was not okay for her to just walk away from me, (she just left and left me sitting there for 45 minutes total) leave me sitting and then come over angry with me when I had been perfectly clear about what I wanted and trusted their artistic direction until she told me she planned on not giving me what I asked for. He made me feel awful- instead of politely saying he didn't have the space to accommodate it, even though SNS takes the same time as gel (googled and from experience) he yelled at me, embarrassed me, and was rude. I was getting my nails done for a special occasion and just wanted them perfect, if they couldn't do it I would have happily left. but I was not going to get something wrong just to appease them. I'm not a bank, I'm a customer asking for something special for a special night. I cried in my car from the way he berated me. It was unprofessional. If you are a regular, he will accommodate you, the way he did the other "appointments" (she walked in with a friend who was not on the books so he chose her and kicked me out). If you are looking for a new salon, do not attend this one. The one by J Butlers in Lewisville is accommodating and would never behave this way. I suggest trying...
Read moreMy first time going it it was far from a good experience. I got a pedicure and I should’ve known something would be off when I asked for the water to be warmer and he brought me a bottled water :-/
I asked for French tip and it was horrible. Fat lines and uneven. I kept trying to nicely explain what I wanted. After a couple of failed attempts another lady comes up and asks me to show her a photo of what I wanted. I showed the a simple French tip and he attempts to do it again, and again and again, with no success.
The entire time the other techs working beside him are talking to him in Manderine and then they begin to walk over, one at a time, to look at my poorly done toes. No one offered to help. None of the onlookers acknowledged my dissatisfaction.
Finally, he proceeds to FILE off the French tip on my left toe (insert crying face emoji). I guess since I got gel he felt the need to file the corner of the white tip off…I’m not sure. It was at that time that I notice my toenail was slanted. Once I got home, I realized that the drill that he used to remove the old polish had removed a good portion of my nail! So much so, that my mail is really weak and flimsy.
I completely understand that there was a language barrier. I just don’t know how I can tell someone what I’d like if they don’t understand anything I’m saying. I’m addition, my old polish should have been soaked off and someone who was good at doing French tips should have stepped in to help him.
Nice guy but I will never, ever, return to this...
