Went to Captain D’s for lunch with my husband and the place was packed with so many people and several people were waiting for their food. Once we got close to the front of the line we noticed that there was only one young girl taking the orders at the front, one person handling the drive through and only one cook in the back. We waited for 40 minutes for our food but we were okay with waiting seeing as they were short staffed. The girl that was taking the orders was so stressed because they did not have the help that they desperately needed and when she brought us our food she just kept apologizing she was so sweet and we just felt so bad for her and the next thing we see is the young man who was doing the drive through orders just walk out and leave so now there was only 2 staff members. The poor girl was then yelled at by a customer that was at the window of the drive through. They proceeded to make her cry as this was clearly not her fault. We did hear her mention that the managers were not answering them as they were asking for some much needed help. Read moreSuch a strange experience. My husband and I recently learned of the Winter Garden Captain D’s. We were so excited because the fish was fresh and hot and delicious. We went back tonight to give it another go. When my husband walked in to place the order, two of the team members were leaning on the front counter Other customers were in the lobby. The girl at the cash register was telling everyone it’s going to be a 30 minute wait for your food before they even place their order most people left. My husband said I’m gonna give it a shot. He asked why is it a 30 minute wait And she responded, “Oh we had a lot of online orders.” He proceeded with the order went to the bathroom and came back and just as we suspected, our food was ready in six minutes. They just didn’t want customers. That kind of behavior will cause Captain D’s to close as customers will leave. They cannot support a business without selling the food. I hope the manager sees this. Read moreI was a loyal customer of this location for almost a year. I took a little break before I came back and just went back recently at the beginning of december. I have not so great experience when ordering through the drive thru. Normally, I had always had a wait, even up to about 10 min., but in return, the food was fresh, hot and the order was accurate. This time we waited almost 20 minutes. No one even came to the window to acknowledge us beyond the order at the speaker. When they eventually handed out the food, and we pulled up front to eat(we were out Christmas shopping), I can tell you the grease was definitely old, and the food was like warm at best. They also forgot my friend's side item, so I had to go back through. Not really very happy with this last visit and I do hope it isn't representative of the future.
