Strike one-no food menu offered. Strike two-no food menu being offered, again. Strike three-out of food and three main flavors of coffee for the day. Strike four-rude manager or impersonal at best when you ask about the food menu. Strike five-no where to sit due inside. So we asked if we could get the outside chairs and tables down for somewhere to sit. āNo, we canāt have our customers getting the chairs and tables down. We are waiting to get access to them and have someone put them down.ā Really, they were not locked and very easy to put down for customers.
Bottom line-the owner needs to get in there and revamp his team on customer service skills! To not have a consistent menu out thatās offered and sitting for their customers is not worthy of my time and money after this many strikes.
EDIT/UPDATE Two hours was the well thought out "turn around approach" and reply to my comment. No, we have visited on multiple occasions where a note is placed on the door stating that breakfast, brunch, or lunch will not be served today due to staff shortages or other issues-many times that fall within your usual hours of food service.
Lastly, instead of "screaming" at your customers reviews with ! marks and pointing fingers perhaps take your daily customers comments and work with them not against them. Take out the "you accusatory" with your customers and staff. By your comment of self blaming for your short comings of running a restaurant, as a manager, not the owner it would be best to change your approach, outlook, and take positive criticism. By loosing a daily customer that bought your coffee, bakery, and meals you lose profit. You have just credited my previous comment on your character. Final note, try treating your employees better too. I have seen your condescending remarks towards them and your guest. Too many cafes locally and good eats to spend my money and time here. Embrace it!
(copy and pasted reply) Response from the owner 17 hours ago We put the tables and chairs up in preparation for the tropical storm. Sorry that was an inconvenience to you! I think our team made the right decision to not let you get the tables down though.
Also, our breakfast service ends at 11am and lunch ends at 2pm. We donāt display menus past their designated service time. If you would like to view breakfast, lunch, or brunch menus, you can view them online.
Sorry all that wasnāt made...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst cafe i have ever been to with extremely arrogant and pretentious staff. We arrived with a party of 4 adults and 3 children and chose to sit outside as they were busy. There is no signage anywhere stating to wait to be seated so we seated ourselves on the patio area. The only tables available at the time were tables of 2. We moved 2 of the tables about 3 feet to the side so our party could sit together. My wife went inside to place her order since its a walk up counter and waited in line for 20 mins before ordering. As soon as she got to the counter to order the employee told my wife that we arenāt supposed to move the tables and to ājust ask us next time and we will move themā. There was literally no one to ask without waiting in line. Were we supposed to all stand for 20 mins? I also have a broken ankle and needed to sit, but they seemed to not care and were more worried about the placement of their outdoor patio tables. If they want us to wait they should pay for a hostess to bring people to the tables. After waiting an extraordinary amount of time in line to order, my wife returned to the table and we were then greeted by another employee that came to our table to also tell us that we canāt move the patio tables but āits fine this timeā and āthis is just how we do things hereā. It seemed like we were being harassed about it, and no one offered us a solution. We were fine moving to a different table but they didnāt seem to want to move us, they just wanted to reprimand us for moving their tables. They are so pretentious that they think their patio table layout is just absolutely perfect, and anyone moving a table 3 feet to the side is just ruining the vibe of their perfect establishment. The food was sub-par and they use those straws made from recycled garbage that break if you simply touch it with a finger. If you visit this cafe, be prepared to be disappointed and donāt dare move an outdoor patio table or chair
Edit: the ownerās response below is exactly what i meant when i said arrogant and pretentious. Instead of owning up to the fact that we had a terrible experience, they are defending their outright poor service. The employees were not trying to be helpful at all and were clearly just irritated that we moved a couple outdoor patio tables. And to say the āagaveā straws perform almost exactly like a plastic straw is bogus and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time customer and I had a pleasant experience. I placed my order inside for carryout, and had very little wait time. I chose the Breakfast Potato Hash and it was delicious. I saw a picture online and it showed sliced avacado on top, but my order had a scoop of guacamole instead. I prefer sliced avocado on my breakfast entrees, but it was still very tasty. The fried egg was fully cooked, sadly no creamy yolk, but a very generous size. The portion of potatoes was also very nice. The onions and peppers added to the well seasoned potatoes. Iād definitely order it again ($12). I also ordered a side of toasted sourdough bread w/jam and it was delicious. Very crisp with a deep sourdough flavor! TWO slices, enough to share ($4). I would recommend requesting one slice untoasted to enjoy at a later time, if not sharing:) I also chose a sweet treat to enjoy later in the day, Orange Kouign Amann. Unfortunately, it was missing the deeply caramelized bottom the pastry is known for. It was actually barely sweetened, which was quite surprising for this particular type of pastry. Additionally, It had virtually no taste of orange, to which I was greatly looking forward too. Iāll try something else next time, Iām sure there are some delicious alternatives. The bakery is small but very cute inside. I know some reviews have indicated long waits and small portions, but I didnāt have that experience. I wish I would have snapped a few pictures,...
