I ordered wings from hot chix turns out it cones from uppercrust pizza they are a ghost kitchen, they messed up my order and refused to give me my correct order. They wanted me to bring the wings back into the store so he could sauce them and rebake them in his oven, this would be a clear health code violation. If they are willing to tell you they will violate a health code issue what will they violate and not tell you. Refused to do anything to resolve order.
In reply to Uppercrust response to my review. There are threats and there are facts. You are now being served with the facts. I am shocked and disappointed by the blatantly false and defamatory claims made in this response.
I ordered food through DoorDash from what was advertised as Hot Chix, a Halal-certified brand. What I received was from UpperCrust Pizza, a business that does not serve Halal chicken, despite fulfilling orders under the Hot Chix name. I called to address what I believed was false advertising and expressed that this kind of misrepresentation could easily lead to a serious consumer lawsuit—especially for customers with religious dietary restrictions.
At no time did I use profanity, threaten anyone, or arrive intoxicated. I never demanded “24 free wings”—I simply asked for the order to be corrected. Your version of events is entirely fabricated, defamatory, and intended to discredit a legitimate customer complaint.
Your public accusations are not only false, but they also damage my personal and professional reputation. I am now pursuing legal action for defamation and consumer fraud, and I will be filing complaints with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, DoorDash Corporate, and the Better Business Bureau. This situation will also be reported to relevant regulatory agencies overseeing food labeling and advertising practices. I have also contacted Hot Chix in Tampa who will be taking their own legal actions to stop this misrepresentation of their brand.
This is not just about a wrong order—this is about transparency, religious respect, and accountability in business. Consumers deserve the truth, and I intend to make sure they get it.
I'll see you in court.
you ordered this on DoorDash so when the order came in, you didn’t specify how many wings you wanted tossed in the sauce so our staff put the sauces on the side for you as a kind gesture when you called our staff using a decent amount of profanity, letting them know that you wanted 24 free wings and when you were told no, you threatened us that your brother was a lawyer and you’ll be calling him-
2- as another kind gesture. Our staff asked you to bring the wings back so we could make you more wings not put those wings back in the oven but make you new wings that you would be happy with but when you and your brother came up to the restaurant, highly intoxicated, causing a scene. We refused to serve you any longer
3- we also banned you from ordering DoorDash or any food from our restaurant forever 4-it’s our opinion for people that are so rude to hospitality, industry folks that work very hard to ensure that our customers have a great experience is a very low form of human being We hope for your sake and everyone in the hospitality industry that you just eat at home from now on but again thank you for your review and we hope you have a...
Read moreI had a hankering for some pizza, so I decided to try out Upper Crust for the first time. Upper Crust has been open for a bit but I always like to give places some time to work out any kinks before giving them a fair shot. (Spoiler alert) I'm so happy I chose Upper Crust today!! Got there about 11:30 to beat the lunch crowd. This was a good call. Not crowded at all! I first noticed the cleanliness of the restaurant. This is always important to me when trying out a new place. Atmosphere was fun with some music playing in a loud but acceptable volume and one of the digital juke boxes that allows you to pick songs from your phone after you create an account. I was immediately greeted by the extremely friendly staff! Looked at the pies of the day, which looked amazing, but for some reason, fate was pulling me toward a stromboli. I never tempt fate, so I ordered the Italian Boli (salami, peperoni, ham, and cheese) but substituted sausage for the salami. I like salami but just felt like sausage was a better fit with peperoni and ham. At only $10.59, I felt I couldn't go wrong with the stromboli! Service was extremely friendly and extremely quick! From order to hand was only 10 minutes!! I was admittedly worried that the contents, specifically the cheese, would not be completely done in less than 10 minutes in the oven. All contents were perfect, but cheese could've used just a but more time. Nevertheless, absolutely acceptable amount of melt for the cheese. I get my order and start to drive back to the office. I didn't dare open the box as I wanted to be surprised by what lurked inside. I'm weird. I know. One thing I noted was the grease had begun to soak through the box. This may be a problem for some people, not sure who (communist maybe), but not for this guy. This was a sign that what was inside the box ("Whats in the booox?" - Brad Pitt in Seven) was worth waiting for. When I got to the office and opened the box, choirs began to sing and rejoice at its majesty! The boli was perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and warm soft middle filled with just the right amount of fresh meats and cheese! Next was the best part...the first taste! It was like having tiny Italian chefs messaging your taste buds. This was one of the best strombolis I've ever tasted! I sat silent for a moment as I savored each amazing flavor before even starting to chew. The plans were to eat half and bring the rest home. Plans never go as planned. So I improvise, adapt, and overcome....I ate it all. I can't wait to go back and try the pizza next! Upper Crust is definitely on the regular lunch rotation and will be added to the dinner rotation, too!! My only gripe, and it's not really a gripe, is the cheese could've been melted just a bit more. Oh! Ask for an additional marinara sauce! You're guaranteed to run out before you get to the second half! Thank you, Upper Crust staff for one amazing food...
Read moreJust arrived back from Upper Crust and promised the head chef I’d write a review so here it is! I’ll preface this with I’m an Italian who was born and raised in New Jersey so when it comes to pizza I’m a bit of a Gordon Ramsey. First and foremost the selection is like no other in the area. Where else will you find ingredients like truffle honey, garlic aioli, or apple-juniper berry BBQ sauce?!
For this visit I got a slice of plain and a slice of Tree Hugger. I love that they do by the slice! In the words of Dave Portnoy it had “no flop” which given the thicker crust is incredible! Down here in Florida I always ask for it well done, but it’s not needed here. The sauce is great, well seasoned with perfect tang and they use quality mozzarella, not greasy at all! The tree hugger was everything I had hoped it would be! I saw someone complain about no sauce but I guess they’ve never heard of a white pizza? This isn’t meant to have sauce, it would take away from the perfect combo of fresh veggies with delicious mozzarella on a flavorful crust. You can tell the Chef here takes great pride in what he’s putting out!
Service was excellent, like seriously, everyone that worked there was really nice and helpful especially the main waitress. She explained everything and was patient with me as I hesitated over my selection.
The inside is small so unless it’s a slow day expect to sit outside on their massive patio (don’t worry they’ve got fans everywhere). It was squeaky clean both inside and out!
You can really tell that from top to bottom every single detail has been well thought out. It almost felt like a Disney restaurant with its attention to detail! By far my favorite is the to-go cups! Are you guys serious?! These things are amazing and I will 100% be using them again and again! So adorable I almost got mad at my husband thinking they were an up-charge!
Just go grab a slice and...
