Not only have I finally gotten the chance to come in but I have been several times now. Few and far between thanks to my busy schedule but I have loved everything I've tried so far! The savory donuts are incredible and I've gotten a friend completely hooked on them. The legume bowl is something ripped right from the recipe book of nostalgia itself, takes me RIGHT back to when I first met my mother in law as a teenager and she made me an incredible hearty dish just like this one! The island bowl and asian chicken are to die for! I also love that she offers cold pressed juice and always has a rotation of sweet treats to try-

As for customer service... I can't explain it. Let alone the fact her grandmother is so sweet and always makes it a point to share her freshest recipe with you when you walk in but I've taken my kids here ONCE, this was MONTHS ago and had explained my daughter has problems eating and gaining weight, can't remember how it came up in conversation but it had and I had forgotten about it, honestly until now - during my visit today the owner (Mika) had asked me if my daughter's eating disorder has gotten any better and to be honest I could cry writing this because that really was so telling of her character and caught me completely off guard. This is someone local who genuinely cares and pays attention to her customers. She is as loyal to you as her best customer is to her wether you come in ONCE or 100 times she will remember you and treat you with true kindness. We're grateful for you guys here so close to home, truly wonderful business ran by beautiful people 🖤

I hadn't been able to enjoy pastries for several years due to food allergies, so imagine my glee when I found out V&M Bakery had dairy and GF cinnamon rolls and carrot cake! I had been craving one for quite sometime so I took the drive to WH to endulge. I wasn't expecting it to be as delicious as it was! Naturally, the texture of GF products is often not the same as regular cake/pastries, but these did not disappoint!!! The dairy free frosting tasted so amazing that you wouldn't know it was DF and GF if someone didn't tell you! The owners are extremely nice and helpful. After being offered a sample of the legume (a Haitian dish,) I had to purchase some to take home. It is a savory combo of cabbage, onions, beans, and flavorful rice. Just the right amount of kick, too. I will definitely be going back to try more items on the menu, especially the loaded nachos or island bowl! Please support this amazing small business! Don't let the term "vegan" turn you off because this food is too good to pass up! You don't have to be vegan to enjoy their wonderfully tasty dishes, fresh juices, and sweets! FYI - They also have a roomy indoor seating area to dine in. I am writing on behalf of my husband who had the unique opportunity to eat at this lovely bakery. He is away on business, helping with hurricane Ian in Florida, working 16 hour days, 6 days a week with no home cooked food, and being vegan limits his eating even further, but, thank God for this vegan bakery and their wholesome delicious food…and so much to choose from!! I am a little jealous, the rest of us are back in rural Illinois with little to no vegan offerings let alone quality comfort food vegan or not. Winter haven/Florida is so blessed to have Mika, Victor, and her family providing this delicious wholesome food to the community. In my husband’s own words, “Looks good and tastes phenomenal. Great and very friendly service. Must visit if in the area. Even if not vegan.” It’s sad that so many lives have been turned upside down by hurricane Ian but feeling blessed to have the opportunity to help and enjoy some good food in the process.
