Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream Counter inside Foxtail Coffee — Restaurant in Winter Park

Five starts really for food, service, and atmosphere..... I just had to knock down one star because we like to pay cash... and that is not an option at this location.

My daughters, their friend and I decided to hit the hot Florida pavement with a bike ride and run with grand plans to end with a scoop of ice cold ice-cream!

Upon arrival I cannot tell you how my daughter's hot red melting faces first lit up with excitement and then quickly dropped when we realized you all do not accept cash at that location.  Believe it or not, we are a cash pay family and only own one credit card which often doesn't leave the home.  We were hot, sad and didn't know what to do.

The employee at the shop, Riley, quickly turned things around with her calm gentle smile.  She helped me solve our woes by finding a way to download an app, call a friend for a credit card etc.... while simultaneously distracting my girls with a sample and patience in picking out the sample.  And she figuratively "threw the cherry on top" when she announced that they carry GLUTEN FREE CONES! My daughter rarely gets to partake in the cones when we are out because of her allergy - but not today. There is no way we would have been able to quench our expected reward with ice cream today if it wasn't for Riley - our exciting trip ended in wonder rather than sorrow.  She is a gem of an employee in every way.  From kindness, respect, patience and joy, not to mention a great role model for my daughters.  She surely deserves a raise and praise.  I can imagine facing people with the same problem on a regular basis, it could become tiring to be the bearer of bad news - but not for Riley. Please bring back cash.... and definitely keep Riley...

First, I’d like to express how Kelly’s is my favorite ice cream place so I’m disheartened to have to write this kind of review. My family and I came in and order 3 milkshakes. (Granted, it’s national ice cream day so there’s a bit of a rush but not out the door or anything.) The Kelly’s representative really presented these flavored milks (can’t call it a milkshake at this point) to me and looks stunned when I said I don’t want it. They looked soupy and should have been remade. If you’re not going to follow the correct measurements for your product then at least fix what you know is wrong. I came right after work thinking I had about 15 minutes to spare before closing. As it currently states that this location closes at 10pm. I was so excited to have a snack after work tonight. I arrived and all entrances were locked . I knocked on the wondow just to make sure I was using the right door since it was closer to closing time. She ignored me. I finally found the entrance through foxtail. Never been to this location and she was closing up and states that google doesnt have the right time. I was extremely disappointed!
