Went here a few days ago. On a Sunday morning around 11. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated as a party of 2, no big deal, despite 3 tables outside in the enclosed space in the parking lot. They had a sign in sheet on a side table inside the door, we were called to our table to a fun, energetic guy who was welcoming and nice. We walk inside, he asks us inside or out, we decide inside, he proceeds to clean off a table so we could sit. Seems weird to have to clean a table if the option was there. But whatever, Ski town mentality. We get a blonde waitress, she seemed distracted right away. We didnt get other drinks besides water to begin with. She came back to get order and I ask for a Coke with my meal. A few minutes later she comes back and asks me what I ordered, she obviously forgot and didn’t put the order in right away. The food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, although my order was wrong and definitely not worth the price. Ordered the fried chicken with scrambled eggs as I’m not a big fan of a runny yolk. Got eggs that had the runny yolk, fine I’ll eat them anyway. The fried chicken breast was tiny and over cooked. It was tough to cut with a knife. The hash browns were cold and crunchy. My girlfriends French toast seemed like a decent idea. It was fried in a fryer to cook and obviously left in there too long. Pieces were dried out and not flavorful. well it did taste like fryer oil. We had no opportunity to say anything as the waitress was too busy talking to her friends in the bar area and giving the regulars hugs, as she did not once come to check on things until after I was done eating and had pushed the plate to the edge of the table. No refills on the drinks. We asked for a few things from the bakery case to get so we could bring back with us. Delivered by the original gentleman and was nice again. She came back in a few minutes to bring our check. While we had our card ready, there were more hugs to her friends, even in front of our table, standing around and talking and generally disappearing, 10 minutes later I was able to stop another girl and asked her to run our credit card so we could leave. Now we understand the pace of life is different than in the City, but this lack of attentiveness was plain rude. While we had expectations based on a relaxed mountain town vibe, this level of service was unacceptable. This was a horrible experience and we question going back to...

I ride my motorcycles to diners and review them. I visited Wake N' Bacon on 25 Sep 21. Don't let my 3 star rating turn you away from eating here. I had some issues with the food that I'll get into in a bit.
First, let's talk about service. I was well taken care of and the wait staff were very attentive (but not overly so) and friendly. I have no complaints there. I got there shortly after it opened and it filled up quick. This is clearly a popular place to eat. By the time I finished, there were people waiting outside for a table to open up.
My meal was a bit lacking. For one thing, the prices were considerably higher than I'm used to. I didn't care for the coffee at all. I'm not sure if it was burnt or just a darker brew that I didn't like. I got the Mama B's fried chicken breakfast with over easy eggs. My hashbrowns were cold and the egg whites were not fully cooked. The breading on the chicken was hard and at some points burnt. The gravy, however was wonderful.
Don't take this as it was a bad meal; it wasn't. It tasted great, but I had to bring up the shortcomings. Also, a little extra creamer and 1 more sweetener packet than normal fixed up the coffee. I would give this place another try and order...
Read moreThis was my first time here and it was awesome! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great breakfast place while in Winter Park! There's a few menu items that aren't available due to the recent events going on but most of their menu is available! They do serve alcohol here so feel free to get a bloody mary or a mimosa! If you fancy bloody mary's I definitely recommend getting one, they are very good! I ordered the biscuits and gravy and it was phenomenal! And not too filling either which was great! They also have chicken and waffles and their Wacon Cakes are to die for! If you order those make sure you're hungry because they are plate size which is pretty big, so if you're not super hungry or can't eat a lot of stuff like that then just order one, you won't be disappointed! They have outside seating which has been expanded in order to follow social distancing suggestions. You need to wear a mask everywhere except for sitting at your table. The restrooms were very clean. They clean and sanitize tables right after people leave and they also have small hand sanitizer bottles at each table. The staff was very friendly and accommodating even with our 8 person group. Overall this was a very good find and I will be...
