Is there a minus star review? THis is one ofthe worst, if not the worse Chinese restaurant I've ever tried. And it wasn't just one try. I've given this place more than it's fair share of proving me wrong, but they failed in all of them, so I am sharing my views of how horrible the mood, the service and the food at this place is. It starts by the mood of the people behidn the "glass" who treat you like a number. All of the times I've approached that counter to order something, the person behind it (most of the times a woman) is selfom interested in helping you decided on something you like. I sense that I am bothering them and that they just want to take my order and move on to the next person behind me, even when there's not one behind me and they have a chance to be "nicer" or more personable. Now for the food. Where do I start. I love egg-drop soup and I order it at every Chinese restaurant I go to. I've ordered China Star's egg drop soup at least 5 times by now and I still cannot believe they do no change from a horrible tasteless bucked on mostly water to something that may taste at least reasonable. When you buy an egg-drop soup here, you buy a bucket of water with some egg in it, some grease and taste of nothing. To accompany that disappointment, I ordered a chicken dish with pork fried rice that came with an eggroll. That's what they call it their "combo". The egg roll was dark, very dark with signs that had been "respurposed" and tasteless. The chicken was sweet but that was all that I could taste. Sweetness with no other taste. The pork fried rice had zero taste. So, if you are in the mood to be always be greeted by people who seem unhappy to be where they are, accompanied by tasteless food and a water soup, please place your order at China Stat in Winter Patrk. Wow! This place is horrible from top to bottom. First, the young man they have at the register has a horrible attitude, and he mumbles. It’s not his accent at all, that’s seldom a problem, but he spoke into his collar. Then, there’s the food. I got the General Tso chicken combo with “lomein”. The chicken was fake and spongy, and somehow it was mostly pasty breading. The “lomein” noodles were clearly spaghetti noodles and were absolutely flavorless. Gross. I took three bites and tossed it in the garbage, and I was taught never to waste food. My wife got the chicken with cashews and vegetables. The chicken was the same spongy “meat”, and there were four cashews. The rice was grainy, dry, and tasted like rancid oil. She also took a few bites and threw it in the garbage. We would never return to this awful, horrible, disgusting, fetid, foul place, even if we were paid. I can’t stress enough how bad the food, service, and everything else was about this place. Run! If I could give this place zero stars I would. First I ordered my lunch at 1:30 and it didn't arrive until after 3 pm. Then the delivery guy was beyond RUDE and accused me of selecting pay in cash when I definitely put my card number online and paid. He then had to call the restraint and verbally give them my card number so I guess I will wait to see what charges get put on my card in the coming weeks. I was starving and this food was still the nastiest Chinese food I have ever eaten!!!! I got the beef and broccoli with fried rice and a spring roll. The beef had a shrimpy taste and the peas in the rice were rock hard. The broccoli was so disgusting I spit it out. The spring roll also had a nasty fishy taste.
