I almost never do a "review" of an establishment. To me its merely an opinion and does not reflect the outcome of everyone's visit. I have been coming to this location for 30 years now since the "original" Fil-am. The food was great, but over the years the food quality started to deteriorate. The place became somewhat dingy. So I stopped going to really any Filipino restos. Anyways, I was taking my mom around and we became a bit hungry. We initially wanted to try to go to another resto, but we were turned away due to "short on staff". So we left and decided to eat here at Fiesta Pilipino.
I must say I was reluctant, but WOW, I am really glad we ate here. Food was excellent, portions were more than fair, prices are fair also. It was so good I had to get some "to go". The place was very clean. I always said, you can judge a restaurant by simply going into their restrooms. It was immaculately maintained. I had the rice combo with chicken bbq and my favorite "dinuguan". They had the right flavor and spice. They know what they are doing!
I will surely be back with reinforcements! Thank you for the great and smiling service! I wish you all the luck! Thank you Sir Penny...
Read moreI used to work next door and order a piece of bbq chicken with a friend banana desert called “Turon.” I walked by and ordered 3-4 times a week. The one day I came in I hear one employee saying to another “give him the burnt one (chicken), we’re tired of this guy always coming here” in their language and as she looked at me and says “merry Christmas” with a smile. She assumes I did not understand. (This was during the holidays)
Yeah. Even though I’m Filipino, raised in NJ and cannot speak the language, I still have a basic understanding on Tagalog. Sad cause that’s how they treat other Filipinos. Imagine if you were anyone else that didn’t understand the language. It’s obvious these people talk trash about the customers that come in.
Also, they recycle their food. Sometimes it’s days old or they turn old food into new like fried pork into a soup.
Just go to la parilla a few minutes away....
Read moreThis place has gone through positive changes over time. I like how the decor is more native orientated to showcase local artwork, however their halo halo goodies has shrunk and you now get more shaved ice. (see picture)
There is a separate more private seating area apart from the food ordering cafeteria style area where all the food items are behind glass for better hygiene. With plenty of food items to choose from, you are sure to come away with something that suits your fancy for the day.
They have a separate grocery food store next door where you can find local items like jars of halo halo mixes for making at your own home, pre-prepped mixes for making your own Filipino dishes, etc, They also sell Magnolia ice cream pints? quarts? which are one of the better, more popular Filipino ice creams that you can't go wrong with if you are looking for ube, mango, coconut or some...
