Update - 05/30/2025: The quality of the food has really deteriorated. The floor is sticky and slippery and the staff is severing at each other in the dining hall. The fish amritsari/ fried fish however still taste good. But everything else just seemed over priced as compared to the quality. The bhatoora was fried in stinky oil. The malai kofta was over sweet. Butter chicken - 🤦🏻♀️ such a disgrace. We really loved this place at our first visit - but since then the quality has really deteriorated.
Authentic Punjabi Flavors & Amazing Ambiance!
Haveli Punjab Di brings the true essence of Amritsar to New Jersey with its vibrant Punjabi aesthetics and an incredible selection of dishes straight from the streets of Punjab.
Here’s what we tried:
Chilli Chicken Momos – Packed with bold flavors, perfectly saucy, and absolutely delicious. Tandoori Chicken – Marinated in rich, smoky spices and cooked to perfection. Amritsari Fish – A staff recommendation that did not disappoint! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with mooli and chutney. Choley Bhature – Nothing short of perfection! Fluffy bhature paired with flavorful choley. The Star of the Show – Amritsari Kulcha – Buttery, crisp, and bursting with flavors, served with chutney, dahi, and choley. Just like the ones in Amritsar! We were already full, but we couldn’t resist the main course:
Dal Makhani & Tandoori Roti – Creamy, rich, and an absolute comfort meal that made us overeat—totally worth it! Hats off to Haveli Punjab Di for an unforgettable food experience. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreFirst off food was delicious but has been one of the worst experiences in US. We were 8 of us and the service was just horrible. No one came to take the order for about 45 mins and then we saw “scan to order” and we decided to order using QR code which clearly says scan to order. It included payment as well and we did. But after another 45 mins it seems their system was not working and they dint see the order. On top of it they argued that we are not suppose to order via QR code. Then why the hell is it for? And how the hell are we supposed to know that. Food came in as they please. Basic appetizers first rule they don’t follow. When asked the staff were arrogant. The waiter brought us 3-4 plates when we were 8 of plus kids. We needed to keep asking for everything. They gave lassi but no straws. No napkins, and we had to ask every single thing and even then they would give as though they were doing some favor. Waiter simply had no skill, no service They brought roti/naan and never gave curries. What are supposed to eat with. When confronted about the service, the female at the cash counter was rude and said I am not the owner and I can’t help. Washroom was dirty and on the way to the washroom, my friend slipped and fell. 227$ was the bill of which they did not give us peri-peri fries. They said 6$ will be automatically reduced when they settle it from CC charges. It dint happen. Ek number chor log. I know it’s just 6$ but still they need to keep...
Read moreI’m a foodie and Indian / Pakistani food is my number 1 food of choice and have it on a weekly basis and travel the world in pursuit of great dining experiences.
With that being said, I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority. The floors were filthy, the tables were dirty—even after requesting them to clean, they still left residue behind. The walls looked disgusting, and trash was out in plain sight and visibly old and filthy contributing to an overwhelmingly unhygienic atmosphere.
The food was equally disappointing. I ordered the chicken samosas, which were unbearably salty, and the Dhaba-style chicken, recommended as a spicy and flavorful dish, turned out to be bland and far from spicy. The entire dining experience felt like a deception compared to the misleading photos posted online.
Adding to the distress, the bathroom was in a deplorable state—unsanitary and poorly maintained. It’s hard to imagine how such a place stays in business.
I will never return to this establishment and strongly urge others to avoid it at all costs. Save your money and your stomach by dining elsewhere. This place seriously needs to either overhaul its operations or close its doors...
