This was a pretty amazing steakhouse and the food was extremely good but above all our waiter was extremely attentive and entertaining.
Before the main food comes youll get some bread and butter. And that is some GOOD butter. If Olive Garden has amazing bread, this place got some amazing butter. It had an amount of sweetness to it that made me want more. I wouldve eaten more, but alas I was here to try their menu, not their bread.
We ordered creamed spinach, calamari, crab cakes, steak tartare, east and west oysters, and shishito peppers for the appetizer.
The creamed spinach was nothing special but pretty good. We ate it with some of the fries, which was a nice combination.
I tend to order calamari at 90% of the restaurants i visit to at least try it. Their calamari was not the best but was pretty high up there on its own. A good amount of crunchiness, seasoned and cooked properly. I think i prefer a bit more crunchiness so, it didn't have anything making it #1 easily for me, but I'll say that the sauce it came with (some liquid sauce, not cocktail) could easily push it up there.
Crab cakes aren't my Forte as I'm not the most fond of them in the first place, but I thought it was pretty good with the sauce and the ingredients accompanying it. If anything the dish might have depended too much on everything not the crab cakes, as the beans and sauce it came with was really good.
I like steak tartare. I've eaten it at Michelin star restaurants and a few other places. This is probably the best iteration I had with it. It came with a few thick chips and sat on some sauce. By itself, it was still pretty good, but I definitely suggest utilizing the sauce with it as much as you can.
The east and west oysters were pretty good. I'm not the most avid oyster enjoyer but I definitely enjoyed these. It comes in a big dish with some tiny cute Tabasco sauces stuck in the ice and 2 sauces, one was cocktail, and i dont remember what the second was. I personally preferred the east coast oysters with cocktail sauce but both sides were good.
The shishito peppers were pretty decent but I don't think these guys were anything too special. Just good tasting roasted peppers, not really spicy and I couldn't taste the hot honey much.
For the entree, we ordered a burger, a porterhouse, and u10 scallops.
The burger was very good but nothing too special as well. I did eat it last, so my taste buds might have been messed up by then, but I'd say it either meets it's $22 price point or falls below. However, that's counting the burger by itself. It comes with a moderately small order of truffle fries. The fries were extremely good. I loved the truffle oil and they were cooked perfectly. The only downside to it was that it was too small. 10/10 would go back just for these fries (and burger).
The porterhouse was $145. The truffle butter was another $8 on top of that. Normally I'm not the biggest fan of butter + steak, but I enjoyed this combination. Next time however, I'd like to take a bit more time to savor the butter and see how much it offers relative to the steak by itself. The porterhouse is filet on one side and strip on the other. Both sides are as expected in terms of the differences, but as a whole the steak was extremely tender. I loved it. The medium cook was a little on the pink side but was perfect for my taste. The steak was very thick and pretty worth it for how much it could feed. I also took the bone home to peel away more meat (I managed to dismantle the bone and get more meat off).
The scallops were probably the best cooked scallops I've ever had. They were EXTREMELY soft. Would love to have more.
For dessert, I was working on the steak so didn't hear what we ordered, but it looked to be vanilla ice cream with caramel and walnut. I can't handle anything to sweet, but this was manageable.
Food I'd come back for: Fries, scallops, steak, calamari, west coast oysters
Hitting character limit. If you order 9 dishes like we did, space got tight with the lamp. Bill was around $500+ incl. tip and drinks....
Read moreI didn’t want to give this place a 2 star, but the transpiring of events throughout the night brought us to this. To start off, we arrived 15 minutes early to our reservation. With it being street parking, we gave ourselves more time. Upon arrival we checked in with the hostess. She told us that it would be a 10-15 minute wait, we were fine with that. She told us to head to the bar for some drinks and she would grab us when our table was ready. We decided to just sit in the lounge area and not head to the bar. I feel once she saw that we weren’t purchasing drinks, then she told us that the table was ready... money grab. The hostess asked us if we wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs. We asked if there was a difference. She told us that downstairs was more laid back and a little more quiet. We told her that we wanted to wait for a table downstairs as it was only 3 of us and we wanted to chat. She told us it would be a few more minutes. we were fine with this as we were within our reservation time. Within 2 minutes another hostess came up and told us our table was ready.. and she began walking us up the stairs. We were very confused as we JUST told them that we wanted to be downstairs. We didn’t say anything and just went with it. it was just very distasteful and unorganized. When we sat down our server was very slow getting to us. I know that this is a new establishment and they’re still ironing everything out, so again, I didn’t mention it. Our drinks took about 10 minutes to get to the table. This was 2 cokes and 1 spicy Marg, so not a lot of drinks or alcoholic beverages that needed to be made. Once our server began taking the order you could tell he was uneducated on the menu. He said very odd things when telling us the specials, like “um give me a second, I don’t want to look at my cheat sheet” or “the beef will make your stomach hurt”, and messed up on some of the ingredients/sides in the food and needed to correct himself. I feel he sabotaged himself instead of trying to easily upsell us on items. He overall seemed not prepared and uninterested in the job. To start, he put in a bacon appetizer instead of our correct order which was the meatball. After finishing our apps there was sauce on the table. One of the bussers came to clean the dishes and wipe the table. They did this with a wet rag. They didn’t dry the table so then we were sitting there with a wet table. I took my napkin and just dried it myself. I then asked for a new napkin which I never received. I’m giving this two stars as we asked for our filet, Mac&cheese and mashed potato’s to be wrapped. Unfortunately, I did not look in the to go bag when they brought it back to the table. I didn’t feel like I should have to, since I very clearly stated I wanted my food wrapped and you could see that I didn’t eat it all and it was all on the Same plate. We then asked for our hazelnut cake to be wrapped as we only took 2-3 bites. After driving over an hour home, I only received the filet and the cake. We never got our Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes…. I’m so confused by this. I would have went back to try this place again once they were more settled in, but not after this… lots of issues with communication. We spent almost $500.00. I’m very very upset. Please do better! UPDATING MY POST TO A ONE STAR. As you can see, someone from the restaurant reached out. I sent a very kind email with constructive criticism. I want to see this place succeed. The owner Michael was very nice and open to what I had to say. He offered us a gift card so that we would get reimbursed for the food that was not packaged and to give the establishment another try. Since it’s over an hour away, I politely declined. The owner insisted and my husband agreed to take the gift card. The owner told us he would send it out over the weekend. This was in November.. I reached out again in January after the holidays because we never received the gift card. The owner played stupid and I never got another response or a gift card. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS...
Read moreLet me first start off by saying if you can afford this restaurant, go elsewhere simple for the price you pay you can get much unique taste from a different restaurant that has it all figured it out, Save your money.
restaurant is run by 21 and 25-year-olds there is nothing wrong with being young and opening a restaurant. You just have to have someone with experience on your team they had none of that. they try and be super clean super new aesthetic. It is way too dark. It is EMO and I had food on my fork I investigated it. I'm pretty sure it was steak tartar They only had one bathroom 10 minutes to take a pee
So I arrived at the restaurant I was 20 minutes late because of traffic they were kind enough to adjust my reservations with that being said, I think it's horrible that if you were to miss your reservation, they would charge you $100,
tables are extremely small if you are bringing large parties, friends and family and they sit you in a corner you are going to have to keep your elbow literally within 1 inch of your chest. Your elbows are going to be tucked and you are going to eat uncomfortably. That is what happened to me.
I requested a wine menu The lady said yes it is upstairs I'm like OK. we sit down and I see the drink menu hostess asked us what would you like to drink still or sparkling we said both
10 minutes later, our waiter arrived he introduced himself and the building like if it's the best thing ever invented, which is nothing wrong with that If you're going to put on a show, actions, speak louder in words stay continued. Amount of times I saw my waiter is literally 4 times He never came to give refills. He never came to see if we wanted anything else to order. I see him walk by I wave him down. I say I ordered stick butter. He looks at me so confused like they didn’t bring it to your he was supposed to be on top of everything this is supposed to be a five star restaurant at the end of the day. All parties should be satisfied.
I requested Cabernet Alexander. I never got it
He was telling me about their specials and their exquisite meats, and how it's made and all of that, and how the building is old and how they keep their jewels in the vault, which is which was previously used for gold and jewelry, and now they keep their jewels in there, you know jokes.
I ordered the Kansas City strip rare how does it come not come juicy I don’t know My friend ordered a New York strip My brother ordered a cheeseburger I told the waiter no dairy I have a dairy allergy he said no problem. He was very nice about it.
I forgot to tell him please do not cut my steak in half. Reading reviews every review showed how they cut the steak. I hate when restaurant serve steak pre-cut it dries out the meat. the meat was quite literally dry to say the least. I always eat dry aged steak and it's always more juicy more tender. Didn't have that taste nor look nor feel it was gamy. It was dusty tasting if that makes any sense like when I ate the steak it taste like steak, but it was like they didn't properly cut pellicle me personally, I love extreme dry age taste tastes buttery and elegant savory. That's how you Dry age done right It's out of this world. This was just dusty.
Simply put this is the restaurant that you would take the girl that you're looking to do a one night stand with just to impress her you're not going far with that relationship and you will never see each other again this is that you will not visit this restaurant ever again
if you're looking for a nice night out, elegant worth the price please look elsewhere this is a TikTok millennial spot small portion millennial joint it is not for professional nor casual people. I hate one restaurant serve you 3 pieces of steak drizzled over it and called it a art and charge $150 please do not buy into it
My bill came out too $450 that is outrageous. We ordered fries, onion rings, spinach, burger, steak, steak, and lobster and they were all incredibly small portions smaller than a newborn...
