So this place is located in a strip mall between Menlo and Woodbridge mall . It’s a small mini mart and eatery . Staff was super friendly and they take your order at the counter and then you take a seat . I woke up this morning craving different Filipino foods all at once and decided to give this place a try. My husband and some of our friends have been here a few times but it was my first visit. I am very picky about Filipino food because I can cook it myself and my mom cooks it For me as well. So take my review with a grain of salt if you really don’t share my opinion 😉. I ordered pork sinigang, pork Binagoongan, lechon Kawali and one order of Dasilog .
Pork sinigang- was okay the bowl was pretty big but more broth than anything else. Although the pork was cooked well it had a very porky taste , not enough vegetables. Broth tasted fishy as if salmon had been cooked in it .🤔 $14
Pork Binagoongan- came out cold not even warm and meat was very dry not tender as is usually should be. Flavor wise it was decent. $12
Lechon Kawali - it was pretty decent but oil tasted old and portion wasn’t worth $14
Dasilog - I will have to say I was extremely disappointed to see one piece of fish , hearty portion of rice and two over cooked eggs. $12
Super disappointed at the fact you go to a Filipino spot and you have to pay extra just to have rice . Now we all know almost every Filipino dish typically is eaten with rice and given the prices they charge extra to have it !! 🙄
As I was paying the bill I decide to get some Turon to go which was pretty good .
They also carry some desserts from heavenly treats in the refrigerator section that were yummy. UBE Brazo de Mercedes and UBE Flan cake ( yummy)
I’m definitely on the fence if I would ever return. Didn’t love it but didn’t...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing Filipino food. Great food with fast service. Staff are very friendly and take the time to explain things to you. This was our first time here and will definitely be going back. The menu is broken down into favorites, breakfast, and seafood. We ordered from their favorites menu and there were still lots we wanted to try.
We ordered the pork sisig, lachon, garlic rice, egg rolls, and breakfast meal with sausage and runny egg. Everything was so filled with flavor. The lachon was crispy and not too salty. The pork sisig was so packed with juicy flavor and paired so well with the rice. You must have rice with this as it is quite greasy. It is also quite heavy due to the glutinous cartilage but so worth it. The eggrolls came with this sweet dipping sauce and also quite tasty.
Conveniently located off route 1 north in the same complex as Favorites. Plenty of parking but do go early or during an off hour as seating is quite limited. We arrived around 11:30 on a Saturday and around 12, it started to get very busy. There is also a small Filipino...
Read moreI am from PA so when we go to Jersey, that is what we do, search where to eat good Phillipine food and have halo, halo! There were few that i found close to Middlesex but this restaurant caught my interest because of how clean it looks plus it has groceries! I was also glad when I got there, parking is not a problem! It was almost closing time when i got there. I picked a whole pompano for sigang. I picked this whole pompano and they cooked it for me. It was delicious!! I had so much left over, I brought it home and had 2 more meals out of that! The halo, halo was very good too! I also bought groceries and the owner was so kind to help me carry the groceries in my car! I was so grateful for that tried to give him a tip but he refused. If I want to have like a home cook meal, that Is where I will go . I already told some of my friends about this place . This will definitely one of...
