This breakfast was simply DELICIOUS. This is my first time going to the Original Pancake House location in Woodbridge. I have previously been to the location in Edgewater. I highly recommend this location and here's why!!:
Picture menus: The items you order are literally what you see in the picture listed online and on the physical menu. Also for those who are on the spectrum or have difficultly communicating verbally the picture menu is just what you need, as most of the food items have a picture listed beside them.
-Excellent Wait Staff- Not only was our server, Alexandra, attentive. She was also kind, caring, and very well informed. She made sure to give us a breakdown of the menu as well as her recommendations. She treated us with great hospitality and her service was truly amazing. She also insured our drinking glasses were clean before even setting them on the table, which I appreciated.
-Quality of food: The quality of the food was everything you could want and more. From the temperature of the coffee, the doneness of the eggs, and to the volume of orange juice in the glass. I would gladly come here and spend money again because all that we ate was just that good!! ( We had 1 sm FRESHLY SQUEEZED orange juice, a orange strawberry juice that is also freshly squeezed and mixed with their in house strawberry puree, Brown sugar Iced Latte, Bottomless hot coffee, chicken sausage with egg and potatoes; as well as their signature center cut bacon with eggs and potatoes. And the honorable mention of the Blueberry Pancakes, which we highly recommend).
Wait time and Food Delivery: Wait time at 9:00AM on a Sunday was ten to fifteen minutes. We were seating in the waiting area within five minutes tops. When seated we ordered all of our food and drinks at once. Within ten minutes we had all of our beverages and food. We were very impressed with the turn around time.
PLUS The pepper mill at all the tables!! Freshly cracked black pepper is great.
The ambience was cozy, family, and just the right volume.
THE MUGS: we loved the handmade mugs so much that we purchased one (For sale at $25, proceeds go to St. Judes hospital).
The manager was present within the restaurant interacting with each table and that just felt nice to know the manager was on the floor and asking for feedback.
Cannot wait...
Read moreWell my server Alexandra, started off strong as she took our order. Then became a bit flustered and lack lustered, when I asked my food to be prepared a particular way. The food came surprisingly fast! I ordered a bottomless coffee, yet she never returned to offer to refill my cup or ask of we needed anything until we asked to pack the food up. No extra napkins offered, the water was just above Luke warm. The atmosphere was excellent 👌 top notch but the staff didn't meet my expectations for the price of the meals they charge here. Let alone the price tag for the collectible coffee mugs were a whopping $25. Way too much for a small mug. The selling point is THEY donate to St Jude's which sounds great if I were getting the tax break from that purchase. Nevertheless, no mugs were purchased sorry but not sorry. The home fries had a Latin twist to them being spicy, however they ask if you like onions and peppers yet not once mentioned you have yo pay extra for something ppl normally put in with their breakfast potatoes. However I digress.. After packaging my food I had to ask Alexandra back to the table a second time because it's common behavior if your packing up food your ready to leave so the bill should have been presented already. I then pay for my bill at the table and she returned with a receipt that was $30+ over my original purchase. If I rushed out of the store I wouldn't have even noticed. When she seen my facial expression change she immediately returned with that voided receipt. And rebilled me for my proper charges, very discouraging that you cannot trust ppl to do a simple transaction. OPH should do better with the training of their staff especially while handling the customers credit card information. That's was a huge mistake and I would consider...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying this place since it would be a potential new breakfast spot. The coffee was very bad. I ordered the dark roast (I like strong coffee) and for me, it was still too weak. My youngest loved her French toast. The pancakes (thank goodness) were delicious. My other daughter ordered corned beef hash and eggs with home fries. The hash was too crumbly. The hash and homefries along was flavorless and bland. I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon with homefries. The bacon was soaked in grease. It had no flavor resembling bacon. My homefries also was very bland. After the manager insisted we give him feedback on our barely eaten breakfast, he took our plates. Shortly after, the cook came out. In a very embarrassing display of disappointment and offense, he began to explain every single process on the preparation for the food, the origin of the bacon, the syrup, the butter and the flour. He went on to explain the grinding process of the corned beef and the honey cured bacon fried in clarified butter. (People were looking at us.) I felt horrible. I was polite and told him not to take it personally and that we were not speaking for the general public, the flavors just was not for us. He continued to say that he's very passionate about his food. (Yes. We are aware of that at this point.) I thanked him for coming out. He said the meal was on him. I offered to pay for all what we ordered, but he refused. Very nice and friendly service. The cook coming out was over the top, uncomfortable and embarrassing. Something I would not want to bring attention to and experience ever again in public. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut and just pay for the meal. (Like I...
