I used to go here almost every week with my family it’s a 45 min drive but we used to love it we would literally go in the middle of the night. Now I would never be going back, they need to get staff that actually know what they are doing. The front staff doesn’t know how to take orders from people people are waiting 10 mins to place an order and they don’t know how to work the cash register. I went there after a year ordered food I was told 15 mins waited 35 mins I asked the guy standing there if he would take $20 cash and $50 on the card he said okay and then he disappeared, the lady that was there spent 10 mins looking for him I told her I will pay cash if it’s a problem she said no it’s fine so then she ran my card and told me there was only $30 in the acct which is not accurate so I asked her to cancel it I will pay cash and she insisted that the payment went through. I asked her for a receipt she said she doesn’t have the receipt then she gave me a voided receipt for $38 and then insisted that only $13 was in the card I told her it’s a voided receipt you didn’t charge my acct and she kept saying she did I opened my acct statement and showed her that nothing was charged then she was like okay then you have to pay the balance I was like duh! That is what I’m telling you that I need to pay cash since I wasn’t charged then she over charged me, I told her I gave her $20 cash prior so I will give you $50 more she said no and kept arguing, literally after 20 mins of arguing and getting more frustrated I paid $90 total rather then paying $70 for my food. And she had the guts to tell me it’s my fault that I wanted to do a split payment I told her the other guy told me it was ok and then I told you to take cash like WTF!!!! I will never be going back here the owner literally just sits at the other restaurant doing absolutely nothing but talking to friends/ customer he needs to start going into the other restaurants and checking on them because they just lost me and my family as customers for the price that I paid for 5 items I can pay that anywhere else for a lot more and MUCH better customer service never going there again and I suggest everyone else not...

The SPACE They've updated and renovated the space. Everything feels new, fresh and clean/sanitary. This is a HUGE deal for me - it's what I base my entire experience on. The FOOD delicious, so fresh, very flavorful, hot We ordered: chicken samosa, chicken cheese kebab, white Karahi chicken, butter chicken, naan, smashburger Everything tasted really good and portions were a decent size. Naan were nice and light and crispy at the same time. The SERVICE waiters are very attentive, not rushing you, very respectful and courteous. This place was always famous for not-friendly staffers who hurried you and dismissed you. Not the case now. Our waiter, Simran, was very professional and friendly. He gave us on-the-house drinks to try as well as a dessert at the end. The pistachio kheer was nicely made.
I've been going to Shalimar for at least 30 years and the food was always good and consistent. However, now, with the updates and friendly vibes, it gives a more modern/fresh look to the place.
My STRONG REQUEST to the team at Shalimar is to keep up with the tidiness, cleanliness and freshness of the place. It is your duty and job to make sure you maintain the space - keep it well-lit, cleaned and sanitary. You have to be able to put money into this area - invest in ensuring the upkeep of the place and inshallah you will continue to be successful. Your next focus should be on updating and renovating the front portion of the restaurant. The counters and waiting areas should all be renovated to look more updated. Remember, customers eat with their eyes first - your front-of-the-house should have curb appeal. It should look inviting...

I ordered chicken briyani, bbq chicken, 30 naan, chicken tikka masala, goat korma, and kheer six days prior to pick up which was Sunday may 19 at 12 pm and the cost was 430 dollars. I was told to order from here by my friend who did have a good experience ordering. The chicken briyani was so SPOILED, i threw it away the same day. The reason why I am saying it was spoiled because the rice reeked like it was made a few days prior and all I could do is throw it away because it was not eatable. Remember, I had guest over so I could not message or call them the same day so I messaged them today Monday May 20 at 6 pm asking for a refund FOR ONLY the briyani. Abid Latif said I should've messaged or called them yesterday BUT I could NOT because I HAD GUESTS OVER! BTW, the restaurant does not do returns the day after even when you complain. I didn't even wait that long to complain about the food. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE BRIYANI and I just wanted the REFUND for that one only. I can not return the briyani either because it was garbage day. The smell was so bad, it needed to go to the garbage truck and not sit in the house any longer than it needed. As well as, I live a hour away to even return the briyani even if I could have. Even if I did return the briyani the smell is too unbearable to even drive with it in my car!
