What a great addition to beautiful Sherwood. Sophia's cafe fits right in and this Mediterranean cuisine is the perfect place and they bake their own bread. My wife and I just had the pleasure of visiting this place today which opened up 3 weeks ago and let me tell ya if you want a break from Mexican food, burgers and pizza this is a unique restaurant with a ton of options on their menu I will give you a quick run down of what I devoured today.
Hummus: This is a creamy vegan friendly dish topped with olive oil and a hint of seasoning of sumac..I will be posting pics..
Baba ganoosh: Roasted smoked eggplant blended with tahini , spices and topped off with excellent olive oil this makes for a great side dish I recommend dipping your meats or falafel in it, or do what I do and just eat with a fork..
Falafel: I hope a lot of other microwave restaurants can learn from Sophias the right way to serve falafel which is fresh out the fryer its merely impossible to eat it any other way. These little fritters were piping hot with so much crunch and the taste of fresh cumin was phenomenal. A true winner
Chicken Kabob plate: This was an enormous plate came with yellow amazing rice, salad which was a huge portion and drenched in a creamy white dressing. The chicken kabob was also seasoned well and made fresh upon request. This combination plate was outstanding and you sure get your money's worth.
Cheese flatbread: To all you pizza lovers the flatbread that is made at Sophia's hands down is no joke. They had this interesting oven with a round plate that rotates and how the flatbread was baked was unreal..I would eat this over pizza anyday. This was loaded with feta cheese and mozzarella..worth every penny.
Overall this easy order at the counter place is clean, spacious with outdoor seating and the owner who is really kind made our feast really special. This is a great place to eat and we will be back...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. From the moment we walked in, it was clear the staff was not attentive and unprepared.
But the worst part was the food. The chef clearly has no understanding of flavor balance or proper cooking techniques. My chicken kabob was burnt and some part of the chicken was not well cooked and some was overcooked and dry, despite requesting it medium-rare. The side vegetables were mushy, tasteless, Even the salad was limp and poorly dressed.
To top it off, the presentation looked like something thrown together last-minute—sloppy and unappealing. For the price they charge, I expected at least decent food. Instead, it was one of the worst meals I’ve had in years.
Overall, terrible service, awful food, and a chef who either doesn’t care or seriously needs retraining. Save your money and go somewhere else. Requested for a extra empty plate, and spoons he informed us 3 $ a empty plate and he sounded rude and...
Read moreWe recently tried Sophia’s Café for the first time, and I was genuinely impressed! The menu is full of vibrant, authentic flavors that reflect the owner’s Jordanian roots. You can truly taste the care and tradition in every bite.
The falafel was made fresh to order—crispy on the outside, perfectly spiced, and it instantly took me back to my time in Beirut. The freshly baked bread paired beautifully with their creamy, flavorful hummus, and the lamb shawarma wrap was absolutely delicious. Generous portions, fast service, and incredible attention to detail made the whole experience stand out.
Nizam, the owner, clearly puts his heart into the food and his customers. His warmth and dedication to service were evident from the moment we walked in.
It’s a joy to find a contemporary café offering authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere right in the heart of the Woodburn Outlet Malls, just off I-5. We’ll definitely be back—and highly recommend you...
