My younger child LOVES Korean fried chicken so we have tried various places throughout Northern NJ. This will be our new go-to spot now! Chicken is so crunchy and crispy with just the right amount of sauce and the meat inside is still juicy! Staff is very friendly as well. The take-out boxes are also really well made, solid construction but still allowing breathability so your chicken doesn't get soggy. So many flavors to try!! My kid's favorite is the Gang-Jeong one (you can taste the cinnamon so if you're not into it, try a different flavor). Mine is the Honey Soy Garlic, I saw bits of minced garlic in the sauce which I can appreciate! My husband likes the Soy garlic. We've also tried Hot Spicy, Secret Sauce and Spicy Galbi. Spicy Galbi reminded me of a spicy American BBQ sauce, definitely a smoky flavor but not what I was expecting of the galbi flavor I would get at say, a K-BBQ restaurant. We also tried a tiny bit of the Caribbean Spice sauce (we eat Jamaican food often) and were pleasantly surprised. I want to try the Ddeok-Bokki and fried rice next time but can't tear myself away from...
Read moreI’ve heard amazing things about bb.q and was really excited to place an order to finally try it out. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing before I even got to taste the food.
I downloaded the bb.q app, expecting a smooth and user-friendly way to browse the menu and place my order. However, the app simply doesn’t work. It repeatedly crashes, freezes, or fails to load essential functions like creating an account or completing a transaction. I tried troubleshooting on my end—updating the app, reinstalling it, and even checking my internet connection—but nothing worked.
It’s really frustrating when a restaurant with such a great reputation has such a poorly functioning app. For customers like me who prefer the convenience of ordering through an app, this feels like a huge missed opportunity.
I still want to try bb.q because I’ve heard the food is worth it, but I hope the app gets fixed soon. Until then, it might be worth considering alternate ways to make ordering more accessible...
Read moreDelicious chicken, but the experience left a bitter aftertaste
I came here for the hype around Korean fried chicken, and yes the chicken is delicious. Crispy, flavorful, and worth savoring. But everything around it made me question whether I’d come back.
First, the woman at the counter was noticeably unfriendly. It was made very clear I wasn’t Korean, and the vibe was cold enough to make me feel unwelcome. That alone knocks a star off hospitality matters.
Second, the menu is overpriced. I get that quality costs more, but when you’re paying premium, you expect not just great food but a smooth experience. Unfortunately, I was told my order would be ready in 10 minutes. It took 22. I checked the timestamp on the recipe so this wasn’t just a delay, it was a lie. That’s another star gone.
So why three stars? Because the chicken is that good. If you’re willing to overlook the service and pricing, you’ll walk away satisfied just not...
