I had called the Pizza Hut located at 1820 Route 46 W, Woodland Park, NJ to see if I could make a reservation for 21 people and 2 children to dine in around around 9pm. I was told on the phone that they do not take reservations, but to come in because they wouldn't be that busy around 9pm and would be able to easily accommodate our large party. My entire family arrives and I was told that they put 2 tables together to seat 14 people. I asked one of the staff members if we could have more tables added on to seat everyone and she told me that they put 3 tables together and then gave us 2 booths right behind them. I asked her if we could have more tables added because they have done that before for us (we come to this location often). She said no because if they did that, then we would be blocking booths up for other customers because the waiters would not be able to get them their food because our table would be in the way, but she would ask a manager for me. I followed her to speak to the manager and he told me that they wouldn't add any more tables because it would throw off his servers's table count. Not wanting to cause any issues, I told him that it would be fine -- my family would split up into 5 separate booths because I did not want to put 14 people together and have the other 7 people sit in 2 booths behind us. He changes his mind and says he will add more tables and starts to move another table towards us. I was grateful but then I heard him say to his staff member that "this family is being madddd difficult". I was not standing that far away from him and he was speaking really loud and there was no other family being seated. I calmly walked right up to him that asked him why he thought we were being "madddd difficult" when I was willing to be flexible and do separate booths. He stuttered and then told me that he was talking about another client. I'm sorry - but I'm not stupid - I know when someone is talking about me. I had no problem letting him know that I heard what he had to say and that he was being rude and disrespectful.
HORRIBLE service from someone who is the MANAGER of the store. I expect to be treated politely especially when I was polite in return.
I am going to give the corporate office a call and let them know just exactly how polite and welcoming this particular facility's staff is. I am truly...
Read moreI usually am happy with both the service and food from Pizza Hut but this last visit was just terrible. I understand that there is a surge going on with the virus. So I also understand that places will be operating with limit staff. But it would be nice to receive a phone call or email notification that there would be a 40 minute or more delay. Instead, I arrived at a parking spot for Curbside Pickup and waited more than 20 minutes. When no one came out I walked into the restaurant to a few people waiting for their delayed orders. The employee apologized and said that they were trying to fix the waiting times online and that was only one cook. Then he went on to say that my order was not even ready to be prepared and offered a refund if I did not want to wait any longer. I waited another 30 minutes since I already placed the order and had both of my kids in the car waiting for their dinner. Then that same employee left for the day or lunch and only the cook was left and another employee who did not seem to know anything. I saw him say that he could not process a refund for another customer who was in a similar situation. I get it that we are in a global pandemic. But communication has to be better. At least with online orders. And it would have been nice to receive a phone call or notification. Plus, most of my pizza crusts were super hard that I just had to throw them away. And I have waited for my pizza before more than an hour and the quality was much better. Seriously, I am so disappointed in the service and the quality of the food lately. I will definitely be taking a break...
Read moreAfter a fun night of gaming with 11 yr old daughter, we were excited to know that the Pizza Hut on Route 46 was open for dining. I had not sat in a Pizza Hut place in many years.
Even though the lady taking our order which I assumed was the manager was very nice. I did explain to her that I was going to sit in to eat with my daughter that will be at the far end of the restaurant.
As me and my daughter are enjoying conversations waiting for our food to come a good 30 to 40 minutes passes and yes I know it takes time to make food but I found the awkward when people were coming in and out getting their food and leaving right away. When I approached the register to ask what happened to our food there was another young lady who was shocked to even see us and asked us about our food that we were supposed to have to eat indoors. I asked for the lady that took our orders and she said I'm so sorry I completely forgot that you guys were there.. SMh like wth
As angry as I was I chose to eat there because I had my 11-year-old daughter and she was hungry and I was not going to make her wait until we got home to eat but when I say that I would never ever go to the Woodland Park location, if anybody walks in there please take a look at those tables and how dirty it looks you can tell that they don't care for the place.
And yes I should have left once I walked in but I was giving it the benefit of the doubt. 50.00 in food and bad service.....
